Hello all,
Thanks for the add to the forum. Just purchased my first Kubota. A 2006 BX23 1000 hours with loader and back hoe. Just wondering if there are any quirks or things I should look for with these, so far it is great! Thank you in advance.

There is a plastic cooling fan underneath the tractor that is not protected well and can easily be stripped of its blades by a stick. The fan itself is a cheap part, but replacing it is expensive if you have to pay someone to do it, and quite time consuming if you do it yourself.

If you do a search for something like “ BX HST cooling fan” ( or something similar) you can probably find several posts detailing this issue.

Definitely check the fan as mentioned!
I would probably do a complete service; air filter, engine oil and filter, hydraulic fluid and filter plus clean the screen, drain/fill the front axle, flush/refill radiator and clean it’s screen and wash radiator itself.
Then you have a good baseline for all service items. Probably run you almost $150 in supplies.
Many here recommend Kubota hydraulic fluid (SUDT2)), all Kubota filters, and any engine oil of your liking, as long as it’s diesel certified.
If you don’t have one, get an operators manual and Workshop Manual (WSM). I think you can get both at Kubotabooks.com
Welcome to OTT!

Here you go ...
Congrats. Had one of those for 12 years. Tough little machine.

In addition to the suggestions above, don't bother replacing the air filter housing bracket. Just bungee it up when it breaks...and it will. Trust me. Anyway, enjoy your "new" machine. It should last for a very long time.

One more suggestion...always hit the brake pedal before starting out...as you will inevitably leave the parking brake on. ;)

I bought a 2011 BX25 with ~ 450 hours last year.
I'm amazed every time I use it, what it can actually do.
It's not a bulldozer or a "big" tractor.
However, it is light years ahead of a pick, shovel, post hole digger and wheelbarrow.

I see you don't show a belly (mid mount) mower in your photos.
If not, I recommend the Bro-Tek two piece skid plates over the BXpanded.
It's better protection for the underbelly of the tractor.

I also got the Bro-Tek steering guard and the BXpanded ROPS toolbox.

The steering guard can save you piles of cash by not having to replace the power steering cylinder. (it hangs pretty low in the front of the machine)
All I could see was hitting that p/s cylinder on a big rock or stump.
Don't use a three point top link with the steering guard.
I had a retaining pin fall out working in the brush, one end of the three point top link dug into the ground and broke the top link. I use a section of heavy wall steel tubing now instead of the three point top link. A $80 mistake!

Then there's the matter of lights. LED lights to be specific.
I replaced the factory headlights with LED replacement bulbs.
Then added FOUR LED light bars to the ROPS.
If you use your machine for snow removal, the ROPS mounted light bars are the best.
The loader blocks the factory headlights when moving/dumping snow...
My neighbor tells me my Kubota looks like an aircraft with it's landing lights on when I'm out doing snow removal at night.
I always wait for the snow storm to end before doing snow removal now.
It's easy to do snow removal at night now!

Don't forget the BXpanded tooth bar for the front loader bucket.

I take the tooth bar off in the winter when i do snow removal.
And then install a pair of Edge tamers so I don't trash my lawn and blacktop driveway.

Verify tire/wheel sizes on your machine before buying this set!

Have fun with your new to you machine and be safe!

Thank you ... I welded the bracket up and also beefed it up, well see how long it lasts.. Also have already done that with the parking brake a few times lol !!!!!

Is there an after market company that makes cabs for these? It's a 2006 .

Thanks...
Try here...https://curtisindustries.net/product-pages/compact-tractor-cabs/

You'd have to talk to them about your hoe if you intended on using it with a cab...
