Had an "Ah ha" moment recently. I'm like many others here probably; I've been a member for years and usually only post when I have a problem. And when I have a problem, the solution has always been prompt, detailed and guilt free even though I'm a "newbie". For one, I appreciate that and I learn from the advice. For two, I recently sent some advice to another newbie with a similar machine to mine which was well received and no one else had chimed in yet.
I just want to say thank you to the guys and gals who have "been there done that" and not only know what they're talking about but are willing to share that knowledge with the new people who don't know any better. Had the member I replied to been in any of the Facebook groups I belong to I would have hesitated; too many trolls waiting to pounce on advice; good or bad. Here at OTT, it's more of a family that shares.
Anyway, just a thank you to all of you who don't discriminate because someone is "new". That trickles down to us new guys and helps us all help others.

I also found this site and came here needing some questions answered regarding a "new to me" Kubota tractor. My concerns/questions were promptly answered and very much appreciated.

I have noticed some "ill will" that occasionally surfaces between certain members but other than that the climate is very cordial and helpful. I look forward to personally meeting some of the OTT members.

That seems to be the way it works here. I gleaned a bit of good info when I came upon this site. Since then I've managed to pass along a bit of what I've learned to hopefully help others. It's a good place to be.

It's not just facebook that has the trolls. I've perused a couple other forums where a thread turns into a cesspool of name calling pretty quick.

We're lucky with this site. Great members that go out of there way to help out. As well as good moderators filtering out the riffraff.

This forum is hands down the best one I've found, great content & only a few contentious members, but pretty user friendly on the whole.

Damn straight.....we’re 3 guys that have been around awhile on OTT, all with different areas of expertise.

That extends to so many of the contributing/helpful members....there’s certain guys you count on for certain issues/problems.

Honestly, except for “What’s Cookin’”, I don’t have any expertise at all. Maybe you’ll keep me around for entertainment value...😜

As much as as I’d like to mention some by name, the list would be too exhaustive....
....good problem to have!😎

For those who are interested (as well as those who are not) the bike is a 1972 Triumph Bonneville. It has dual carburetors, 650 cc engine, and the optional five speed transmission. I believe it is the second year of the oil in frame Triumphs. The bike is a near stock frame up restoration - right hand gearshift and all.

The only "Dumb" question should always be an "Unasked" question. Complicated to one person will be simple to another. There are different levels of experience and expertise available to tackle and conquer any situation, circumstance, or question. :geek:
