Old man on new website seeking some information.
I've been a green paint owner for over 50 years and now I might make a slight color to orange delight. My John Deere dealer has a old rugged 1979 Kubota B6100 HST for sale. He asking $1000.00 and I mad a offer of $750.00. He thinking real hard...do I keep or sell it. I don't know how many hours it has, but, I would guess it may be at least near or over one thousand or more. I don't really need this B6100, but, I need it to fulfil a void in my gardening tools...equipment.
I own a 1949 Ford 8N that I got from a Ford dealer back in 1956 with 16 hours on it. It has been a "looker" by several thousand Parade goers and maybe more at Tractor shows in the Midwest states. Here is a picture of the 8N

I also own a 1999 JD 345 and a 2012 Z710A Ztrak that does the mowing on the 10 acres. What I need is a sub-compact tractor to use a 30" Rototiller behind it as my old 8hp 2 wheel tiller is in need of repairs. Besides, I'm in my mid 80's and can't handle the tiller any longer. I bought a new Deere 647 tiller for a "song and dance" and it won't and I say. "it won't work behind the 8N."
So, that is the reason I'm paying $750.00 for the Kubota B6100 HST....to connect the 3 point hitch to the Deere 647 tiller.

Now, the big questions... Is the Kubota B6100 worth the $750.00 I hope to pay, and will it work with the Deere 30" tiller? And what are the main problems are the B6100 HST good for in ways on repairing and replacing parts.
I figured there may be some on this website that has or had a B6100 HST now or in the past. Here is the B6100 as it shows by the dealer.

Only way a B6100 is not worth $750 is if the engine is froze, seat is missing, air filter is missing, fluid dripping from every seal, and has no tires, fenders or injection pump!:)

Welcome to the forum. You have some nice equipment!

Hi, this is a good deal honestly.
I have a B6000 4x4 and a B6100E 2x4 and I can tell that there are pretty strong compact tractor very low maintenance price.

My 1978 B6000 Kubota have the PTO running counter-clock, is it ok for your rototiller?

You may want to look at this but $750 is a great deal for that awesome tractor you will enjoy it!

Pretty sure a B6100 PTO turns CW.
Nice 8N. I had one once but it wasn’t practical for my usage. I love old Ford trucks and tractors.
That’s a good deal for deal for $750. Don’t let it get away!

Hello
As others have said that is a really good deal. The gloves on the seat and the nice hood are worth $750. I would be running down to the dealer on Monday.

The straight tin alone is worth 750 clams. Play dumb and get it for 750 and smile all the way home. Will he deliver too?.... :D

Sometimes a dealer who isn't familiar with a particular brand or specific model really don't know what they actually have or what it's worth. It's just a early Kubota to him and nothing more. Probably gave the owner 500 on a trade anyway.

Had that happen to me interestingly.

Was looking hard for another M9 Kubota, a pre emissions one and it had to be a hydraulic shuttle. I didn't care if it had a loader but had to be FWA and I look and looked for months and suddenly this '02 appeared in a Fast Line ad. It was 600 miles away but it was exactly what I wanted and it had a FEL too. Called the dealer, was a JD ag dealer and told him I was interested. What I didn't tell him was I was gonna drive out there and I was leaving as soon as I packed a bag and my checkbook.

Got there the next morning about 10am, looked it over carefully, I know what to look for as I already have one (2004), we dickered a bit and I walked out with another M9 and he delivered it to the farm, no charge. He had no idea what it was, just a Kubota to him. Being a green dealer, all he was interested in was selling green. good for me. Bought it delivered with the loader SSQA and 2 buckets for 18 and I wrote him a check too. Told him to take it to his bank and cash it while I waited, He did, no issue with me.

Far as your goes, it's worth way more than he's wanting, probably 4 times that so play dumb, dicker a bit and be happy. I am. If you take half assed care of it, it will outlast you. Filters and oil are a dealer trip away. Use the good stuff (Kubota fluid and filters), check and/or renew the air filter and change the engine oil.

Was my very first Kubota. Should have kept it.

I like your old Ford too but I'm not a Ford tractor person and they don't have a 3 point anyway.
