B2650 do they all start fast?

I met my brother at a dealership to look over a used B2650, it has 680 hrs. 60 degrees temp, I turned the key and it fired imediately, (like an old straight six). i asked the salesman if they had ran it before we got there, he said no. My B3350 never fires that quick, it takes prob 3-5 seconds before it fires, is this normal?

Mine always starts without any delay.....but I always use the glow plug feature averaging 5-10 seconds.

My B and BX always fire right up, if all diesel in your area is biodiesel you need to add algecide to every tank/fuel can I use an animal syringe (no needles) for the additive. Hardest part - math - convert ounces needed to ml, paint it with magic marker and remember to use it.

Mine starts very quickly even when below zero. 2018, 400 hours.

i use Diesel treatment summer and winter, never have a water or running problem, fuel filter changed once a year, i think its just the nature of the beast.

My 2017 B2650 with 350 hours and 5-10 sec of glow plugs always fires and runs immediately. Fyi I always treat my fuels at the pump with Sea Foam.

Finally sunk in, you have B3350 - different engine, has somewhat of a bad rep because of the pollution controls. Don't believe throttle setting should matter. Turning key on for 2-3 seconds allows electric fuel pump to pressurize fuel line to injection pump (cold weather glow plug position also runs pump). When you turn to start, would expect almost instant firing.

Yep, mine too.

Even in winter it’ll start after about 3 revolutions without glow plug heat but it rarely gets down below freezing... if it does, about 5 secs of GP and it starts immediately.

If I recall, someplace in my fogged memory, I remember that the big "K" made the statement to NOT USE BIO DIESEL in your tractor, but things may have changed

Its hard enough to find reg diesel around here, i can tell you bio diesel has never touched my 5 gal jugs. 3-5 seconds with or without glow plugs is my norm. And in 4 years no emissions problems, nothing, it does whats its designed to do.

Tractors equipped with a DPF use an electric lift pump and electronically fire fuel injectors in addition to the high pressure injection pump.

Older, or new but low horsepower tractors don't have or need a DPF and they still use mechanical fuel injection. They tend to start quicker, and sometimes with a little puff of black fuel smoke.

The best starting tractor I ever had was the L2501 with a 1.7L 3-cylinder with common rail, mechanical fuel injection.

I purchased my B2650HSDC last year, and in my owners manual it states that biodiesel can be used under certain conditions. One being more frequent oil changes, and changing the fuel filters more often. It does state that the use of any problems that arise from the use of poor quality fuels that fail to meet the above requiements, whether biodiesel or mineral oil based, are not covered by the Kubota warranty.

I happen to live in Minnesota, the first state to mandate the use of biodiesel. And currently, during the summer months, I can only purchase a mandated 20% blended biodiesel. So unless I stockpile my fuel from times during the winter where I might be able to use less than the mandated 20% biodiesel, if I could find a source that had less than the 20%, I am forced into the situation.

So far I have had no fuel related problems with my tractor. I treat all my fuel with an algicide, and anti-gel in the winter. Hopefully, I don't have any problems.

With regards to how fast my B2650HSDC starts, with proper use of the glow plugs, two to three revolutions and it is running.

I have two Kubota products, a 1996 M4700DT utility tractor ( 5-cyl diesel) a 2014 RTV-X900 utility vehicle (3-cyl diesel).

BOTH of them specify No. 2-D diesel fuel. They both then discuss using fuel meeting ASTM D975. They (confusingly) also mention that No. 2-D fuel is a “lower quality” fuel that meets J313. The tractor specifies min cetane of 40 and the RTV specifies min cetane of 45 with a recommended 50. (This RTV note is goofy as you will see...that the ASTM D975 allows a min cetane of 40. )

Neither mention bio-diesel (neither the ‘96 tractor nor the ‘14 RTV.)

I just bought a used B2650 with only 25 hours. Mine also starts immediately. Really liking it so far. Have the FEL, back rake, back blade and post hole digger; looking for a spreader.
