Re: Is the sky falling?

The funny thing is is the backwards escalation. No TP, people rushing to get TP. TP all sold out. etc. etc. etc. TP? That is the general main concern?

Wait until they realize they need food and protein to have a use for TP. Then the crazy will start.

Seeing a couple freezers full of venison, chicken, pork and beef is very reassuring.

Think proteins people.
I guess the wife and I did it backwards, we went food shopping and filled up the freezer, then when and got the other supplies.

Well looks like your freezers has a lot in common with mine. God forbid if or when there's no coffee to be had, things will really get nasty.

Re: Is the sky falling?

A friend of mine works for Kimberly Clarke. He says they are cranking out TP as fast as they can to fill orders. But they won't actually sell any more TP this year than any other year -- they expect a dramatic slump in sales will follow once the panic buying is over and people start using their hoards.

So, the level of sh** that people are full of is going to remain constant? Lol

Is the sky falling?

around here there’s lots of TP, but most of the food is gone, don’t need the one thing without the other thing.

Why do people run out and buy tons of TP, is there some use for it I don’t known about in emergencies? Can you kill zombies with it?

I think it was early this week I heard there's a shortage.

My reaction was "really?!?!"

Not thinking about zombies, but still stumped....

I heard it was printed on some old recycled emails that nobody wanted. There was like 30,000 of them. Something about wedding plans and yoga?

Re: Is the sky falling?

Some are saying guns and ammo are going up. I hope most of us have TP, food and ammo. You never know when there will be an ice storm or terrorist attack, or just a Maine blizzard. Stay safe. Hopefully when it warms up we will have diesel, I want to hear the L260 running.

Re: Is the sky falling?

Two days ago I had to take my FIL to the hospital, possible appendix, (as usual they refused to call 911) turned out to be a gall bladder/stones problem, with a UTI. Wife, MIL, and I spent the whole day at hospital, with me outside 90% of the time. I came up sick the next morn, scratchy throat, cough, voice comes & goes, general weakness.
FIL is home now, and wife went to the grocery today to pick up supplies for me (cough remedies & drops, popsicles, hydration fluids, etc) She and several others were shocked to find the store shelves about half empty of merchandise of all types.
This store seldom has ANY open shelves because it so well stocked. So I guess it's official, people have turned into the mindless mob.
Maybe it will soon be time to begin real preparation for civil unrest. Sigh.

Hopefully you already have made the preparation and we pray it won't be needed, but better prepared than not.

Re: Is the sky falling?

We saw a lady with 10-12 gallon jugs on milk in her cart. I didn't count but it was filled to the top! I didn't ask but surely she was taking it to a nursing home or hospital because there is no way it could be kept/used without souring. I have certainly never seen that much milk in a shopping cart before.

We always have always had things on hand here, as 90% of all goods arrive in Phoenix area by truck- a few bridges out or a trucking strike & things could get scarce. We also have stockpiled long term storage foods and others things that will be useful in a period of civil unrest. Hopefully they won't be needed.

If the jugs are made of plastic, some deform enough that you can freeze the milk in the containers :)

Frozen milk is horrible. Just buy powdered, lots easier.

Don't be concerned about the TP shortage. I just left Home Depot and they have plenty of sandpaper!!
