Adding Aux Fuse Block to BX

Hi-

I think I'm going to tackle adding an auxiliary fuse block to my BX and was wondering if this would work for a block:

I know the factory block uses mini-blade fuses and the one above seems to use standard fuses; is that a problem. Would a 30-amp relay be sufficient for this?

Obviously I'm a noobie here, so any additional info. that may be helpful would be appreciated.

If it fits it will work fine. A fuse is a fuse for the most part.

Bigger question? What do you plan to run with it?
Can the BX electrical output handle it, what model?

Planning on running a battery meter, a couple of LED lights...that's about all I can think of (for now). Not a ton really.

You should have no problem then.

I recently added a couple LED's to my Canopy and was surprised to find out the 120W LED's (as advertised) only drew about 20W in reality.

I have found it is a good idea to actually test them.

Instead of a fuse block with slide on terminals, look for a marine fuse box where the terminals are screw type for ring style terminals.

The reason is that the ring style terminal wont get pulled or slip off.

After measuring my actual load, I ended up running 12GA. Length and load determine the wire needed.
