Does it go out when you first start the tractor and then come on, or does it come on when you first turn the key and stay on?

It now comes on within a minute or so after I first start it up- Originally I thought it might have something to do with oil and filter so I changed both the oil and filter and light still comes on.

The oil pressure light is there to warn you if the engine has low oil pressure. I would assume it is working properly and check the oil pressure with a mechanical guage before I would assume it was just faulty. Making a mistake here could cost you the engine!
