Have you ever adjusted the coupler on a grease gun? Many folks just spend $30 for a lockNlube, but you can adjust a grease gun so it releases properly, and also so it stays on properly.

I'm always twisting the end piece for a tight fit and then backing it off for an easy release. Especially in recessed zerks that are on mt front end loader pins.
Flip, I'll bet there are a bunch of folks who have never heard of such a thing! That's why I brought it up.

Good post D2. Sometimes those of us that use tools everyday forget that others may not have as much experience with certain things. It’s the little things that make this forum great!

Works great on the first time you do it with a new nozzle and clean gloves. Then you get the pliers out to unlock the jaws because its hard to grip a small round greasy part and then you discover which zerks are loose after they pop out with your crappy coupler. Finally, you wonder why more grease is squirting out the coupler than going into the zerk and discover your cheapo garbage Chinese screw on coupler has a broken or missing jaw and you throw it away and drive to the farm supply to buy ANOTHER replacement cheapo garbage Chinese screw on coupler.Have you ever adjusted the coupler on a grease gun? Save yourself time and trouble and money and get the lock-n-lube. No regrets here, best $30 I ever spent.

D2CAT I still use the old style like you! Pretty simple when you know how to adjust it! Push on and pull off! No plyers tightening or loosening! Just having a BX23S to grease....well its all I need.

Ya, Mikester has bad experiences with the "cheapo garbage Chinese screw on coupler".
I have several grease guns for various greases, old and work fine. I'm sure they are BC....before Chinese.

Have to say, I've never had that issue with my Plews coupler. It's always a hand tighten / loosen operation. Maybe a cheapo Chinese couple might hang up, not sure.
Adjustable as far as how tightly the 'collet' in the nose grips the zerk.
Forgive my innocence, but is "zerk" a new pc version of what I've always called them or have you guys "over there" always called them that

I have heard them referred to with that term on occasion, but for all my 69 years they were called zerks or grease fittings here in the US. Believe me I know, back in the 70's I operated self propelled earthmovers or "scrapers", that had around 30 zerks on various moving parts of the machine that needed to be greased at the end of each day. It usually took one or two tubes of grease to do a proper job.
I have a USA-made professional two-hand grease gun and adjusted the coupler all the way tight, even using a channellock (gently) to make sure it was screwed tight, and while it was now a b---- to get onto the zerk it popped off without thinking twice once grease pressure built up.
I am guessing the coupler is worn out and I could order another USA made one, though having arthritis a LockNLube is likely far easier and faster to manipulate.
