I have found a used B2650HSDCC (I think those letter are right). It is the cold weather cab model. It has around 400 hours of use, which has been all mowing with a mid mount mower. I’m wondering if that’s considered hard use or not? I would say compared to aggressive loader use, it’s much easier on the machine, but mowing with something that size mowing involves a lot of stopping, backing up to turn, sharp turning, just really working the systems. That being said, on a machine like that with all mid mount mower usage is there anything in particular I should be looking for? Thanks in advance!!

Not to worry! At only 400 hours on the meter your tractor is just barely broken in!!:D If there's no service records with it you might want to go through the service procedures stated in the owners manual. Great tractor, by the way. I have the ROPs version that's now barely 1 yr old with 200 hours on it.

tb82, welcome to the forum. Wasn't Worthington considered the turkey capital of the world a few years back? They even had Turkey Day parade, and kids got out of school to go watch!!

400 hours is nothing to be concerned about. It's just a pup.

Thanks for the great responses! You know, Worthington is actually a pork processing town, but it’s annual celebration has been known as Turkey Day forever! Every year during the celebration there is a turkey race between Worthington’s turkey, named Paycheck and a turkey from Quero, TX.

One other question... I also have more convenient access to a B3350HSDCC. Are the emissions enough of a reason to stay away? Here are my options; which would you pick? Both are around 2015 model years.

B3350HSDCC with 250 hours, loader only, for $23,900.

B2650HSDCC with 400 hours, loader and 60” mid mount mower for $22,000.

The B3350 should be avoided at this time. There is a post this week on a couple owners problems with that model.

You didn't say what you plan on using it for. If you want it for loader work then the 33 is the obvious choice. Also the 33 will have a better resale value.
The more powerful tractor will be worth more down the road. But as mentioned there are some issues with the B3350...keep that in mind.
But if all you want to do is mow...well you know.

There's plenty of info on here about the concerns and troubles with the B3350 DPF and regen functions. I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment on those issues. It seems most say to stay away from it for the time being, however. My comment is that from my purchasing the B2650 new last summer it seems your stated price for the used B2650 is really pushing or close to the new price for one. But not sure what the new steel prices and tariffs have added to it since my purchase. Might want to consider going new?

Regarding the 400 hours mentioned: I also bought new in 1985 a JD750 compact tractor and have over 4000 hours on it and it was worked hard....but well maintained. It finally developed front wheel assist troubles and I'm having trouble finding some parts to fix it up again. That little diesel engine still purrs like new after all those years of hard use with mowing, roto tilling, backhoe and loader work and all kinds of other uses. I'm still hoping to fix the front wheel drive......or else turn it into a 2 wheel drive tractor and start using it again where front wheel assist isn't needed.

You could stake me to an ant hill, cover me in honey, and I still wouldn't buy a B3350!
Even with updates they are an ongoing problem child! :(

You didn't really say what you were going to use the machine for. Unless you're driving something that eats PTO horsepower, the 3350 isn't worth it, particularly given issues with that model. Most things with a tractor relate to the hydraulic system (which is the same on both) or how much traction it has to drag things (again, same on both models....although I seem to recall 3350 has larger tires?). So unless there is something that's directly drawing on the engine power - like a PTO implement - then you won't notice the difference.

B3350 will NOT have better resale value. In fact, right now, if you find a used one for sale usually the price is about the same as a B2650 because of the known problems. Stick with a B2650, they are a great tractor.

No one knows what future resale values will be. Only time will tell.

Stay tuned.

I can tell you right now if you look for B3350 used for sale, their prices are not much higher, if any than the B2650. People are trying to unload them hoping the buyers don’t know anything about the problems. I have seen several listings over the last 6 months that way.

No one knows the future, but B3350 has been in production for about 5 years now so that is long enough to get an idea what used ones are selling for. I know you are hoping that they have good resale SDT, but I wouldn’t hold my breath, particularly on machines that the motor has been apart at very low hours. People tend to avoid them if they know anything about equipment.

Frankly, I care little about the future resale value of my B3350 or anyone else's.

That said, no one knows what future resale value will be.

Not trying to stir anything, but would you buy the current 3350 again?

I'd say nobody knows for sure what future resale values of anything will be. But what we probably can say with reasonable confidence is that resale on the B3350 will be lower than what it would have been if it didn't have issues.

The real question if the OP is buying second hand is whether that reduction in value has already occurred, and therefore it's now a good buy, or whether the resale will continue to drop faster than, say, the B2650 would. And that probably depends on whether the issues of them are pretty much fixed, or whether they're going to get more difficult as they age.

If the OP has no particular need for the extra HP of the B3350 (and I didn't see any suggestion he had a task that required it), then probably it'd be lower risk to stay away from that model. But if he has appetite for risk, he may be able to get a bargain by buying a machine that (some) other people don't want.

All I know about the 3350, is when a dealer tells you he will not carry or take one in trade, ya kinda figure there's a fly in the ointment some place

I looked at the larger B's when I was in the market 3 years ago. The B2650 was too small for my needs, and the B3350 issues were coming to light back then. I ended up with an L4060.
I would never consider a B3350 new, used, fixed, or broken.
