Through recent discussions, there were several of you that used Mystic j t5 hydraulic oil, including me. Went to tractor supply to get some and they did not have any. Called several other tsc stores and they did not have any. Searched internet and O'reilly was listed as haveing it. 4 phone calls later and none of the local stores have. The one I normally used tried to order it,,, can not get it. None of the 5 gallon buckets of oil at tsc listed any of the oils as being Kubota certified. Wife said she thought she had seen the mystic oil at wallmart. Went there and no mystic but,,, Service Tech had a 5 gallon bucket and on the back it said, Kubota udt approved, so I bought it. Wolfman, if you can still get mystic jt5, you might want to get a bunch.

I switched to Rotella AW30 fluid which TSC does have an is an approved (not certified) as a UDT substitute.

Normally I use Chevron THC all weather synthetic which is SU and UDT compatible and it's orange so you can see it easily on the dipstick or in the sight glass however, I won't be using the OS9 I bought in the winter so flowability don't mean much. The Chevron has excellent flowability in cold temps. It's also hard to get. So happens my jobber is a Chevron distributor, but to buy it on the open market...good luck with that.

I've seen it for 90 bucks a pail. I pay 58 a 5 gallon pail, 55 if I buy a 55 gallon drum.

The Rotella is 52 at TSC and they stock it.

I was under the impression that the Mystic hydraulic fluid was JT8 not JT5.

definitely jt5, I have an empty jug. I also tried to find the chevron you used and could not find it. The jt5 does have kubota listed on the back for use.

Only place I can get it is my jobber, Schrader Oil in Toledo, Ohio. They do have a website and may ship it, not sure.

I've had extremely good service with it, especially in the winter as I plow the roads clear out here. In the bitter cold Michigan winters, flowability is everything. You don't want to be starving you pump for fluid in the cold.

I still warm the tractor up when it's below zero for 15 minutes or so jut to be sure everything is up to operating temperature.

I really like it because of the flowability and I can actually see where the level is, unlike UDT or SUDT. THC is orange.

ipz2222, out of curiosity I called the local Oreilly Auto about the Mystic JT-5. They had no 5 gal pails in the store, could order one in. There was only one in Kansas City, Mo. Cost....$99.99.

I bought 6 ea 5 gal buckets about 6 months ago. Cost was somewhere around $55 each.

I am curious as to the cost increase.

I just went and checked my store, I can get it and they can get me more too.

Looks like there might be a backlog on production of it though as several online sellers are saying long lead times for shipment.

Need some.... I could mail you a bucket or two. :D

You can buy it online for an OK price from Zoro.
Both listings are same seller with free shipping.

99 bucks puts it in the realm of SUDT

North Idaho Wolfman, the links you post offer 5 gal. JT-5 for 62.34 delivered to the door. Oreilly said 99.99 and I have to go get it.

At this kind of rate difference it won't be long before brick and mortar stores can't stay open.

This is why I can stay working, I can order my parts and get them delivered for cheaper than going to the big city and getting them! :D

That's an unbelievable price for SUDT2. Coleman price is $103. Ford techs much get the "brother-in-law" discount from your dealer.

Maybe you were just on the fortunate side of that buy!

Last week I went to the local farm supply store and got a mineral block and a salt block. They are usually $5-6 each. I paid the ticket (I had other items also) and a young man put the blocks in the truck for me. When I got home and looked at the receipt I was billed for one mineral block and one salt block, however the salt charge was like 39 cents. The person at the register must have looked at a chart (instead of scanning the item which required more effort because it was out the door) and read something wrong...like salt block for rabbits!

Let me know if you start bootlegging hyd oii:D:D.

The Chevron THC Synthetic I buy is 60 bucks a pail and the Rotella Hydraulic oil I bought for the new tractor was 53 a pail at TSC and t's orange (like the THC) as well. Both are approved by Kubota for fluid.
