Did you leave the key on for the last 7.4 years?

Have seen it before. Only choice is to replace the meter assembly UNLESS you know of an electronics guru that might be able to repair it.

Not a BX... but two hourmeter issues I've experienced have been:
Kubota: Mechanical (speedo) drive cable disconnected and/or broken.
Other: Electric-powered meter removed, checked on bench fine, reinstalled, works perfectly ...due to dirty electrical plug/contact. Cleaned with electronic cleaner and lubed with WD40-Gel or dielectric-grease.

My hourmeter is not working . It shows 65,191. no way this is right.
No that cannot be right! Seems like that was hooked up to a constant hot somehow! I would write down the info and pay attention to it being used...see if they jive with each other or simply replace the meter.

I bought an older pontoon boat a while back.... was under the dash, and kept hearing a ticking.....the hour meter was hooked directly to the hot lead feeding the gauges!!

It is a very rare fluke with the 50 series dash, had one go from 300 ish hours to 68,000 ish over the weekend. Boy, was he miffed!!!!!!! Over 5 years now and it has not clocked a tenth.
