Bought Amy a new mower today...

She keeps telling me how she will help with lawn chores but won't use the zero turn because she don't like the control arms so I was at the dealer today to order some M9 parts and he just took on trade a Cub Cadet 36" rider with a steering wheel. It's a zero turn with a steering wheel and step through platform so I bought it.

Has a Kohler 20 horse motor, electric start, suspension seat, hour meter and a big fuel tank. 7 hours on the clock. 1300 delivered.

No excuse now, has to help.

I've had fantastic service from my Cub Cadet 60" tank. 700 hours on the meter and no issues whatsoever (barring consumables like blades and belts but no mechaincal failures. She gets to mow too.

I'm excited. I get sick of cutting the grass, I mow about 6.5 acres including my rentals.

Well looking way way back, I got a pitch fork for Xmas from my spouse and was thrilled! We didn't have much money so it was perfect. I still have it, my favorite pitch fork, works well. On the other hand, same era, someone gave me some white kid gloves with pearl buttons. Useless. Nice and all, but useless. I never found an occasion to wear them. It's all in your lifestyle

I'm amazed some of your wives are so sensitive to mowing. My wife would have a fit if I mowed. It's her relaxation. I make sure there is fuel, the oil is changed, machine is greased. She checks the radiator, fuel and air in tires before each use (has her own tire gauge in the storage area). She got a new one just a year ago because it was easier than trying to adapt a Grammer seat to the previous one. 62" cut and nearly 100 Hrs. now. We've had a zero turn for about 12 years now and I haven't ran one probably 5 minutes!

I just today got a new seat on the B7100 so she could mow the back 3 acres. I didn't want her mowing that with the new machine.

Got a TG1860 diesel at a rental property and she uses it to mow around the barn there. Just lucky, I guess.

That is nice. I like the fender skirts too nd the real vintage Briggs motor....

Sold the 105 today. I'm down to 2 M9's now. Put an ad in the local farm paper and first guy bought it. I have all the service records. Every time I serviced it I logged it, kept the receipts for filters and any parts I put in it. Always kept inside in the barn and never ran in the winter except in emergencies. Nothing wrong with it, no issues at all. Was just never enthusied with it as I am about the 9's.

Tire man coming Friday to pull off both rears and put in new (dry) tubes. I have one rim with some rust around the stem hole. I'll probably have him pull that one first and take it in the shop and wire brush it and wire weld it up. If it's real bad, I'll add a washer at the stem hole and weld that in and grind it down.

I can see when I change out tires, I'll be buying new rims too. I hate CaCl. Row croppers love it though. I don't need loaded tires for what I do. Too much compaction and crop loss... Not that I can cut hay anyway. I could cut water right now...lol

I'll second that!!. My wife asks me all the time if she can mow and I don't mind if I'm busy as long as she doesn't go close to the bank in front.

So, one day they were passing the Kubota dealer, they saw a smaller mower tractor out front that was bigger than the Cub she drove. In an hour, they had it on the trailer and headed home.

The wifely unit drives that thing like Mario Andretti. Headphones on, book on tape or tunes blasting. It hauls butt and so does she mowing a wider track at twice the speed. I think she mows 2-3 acres of their 60.

One thing for certain, no matter how bad a mow job she does, I will never say anything negative, always positive. If I utter one critical word, I'll be running 2 mowers.

I'll be keeping my cakehole shut no matter what. I'll be fueling it and maintaining it and that is it.

Amy don't do with negative comments.

Didn't know Indian ever made an air cooled single, sure looks like a rebranded Briggs to me. Irregardless, I sure like the 'Art Deco' look.

Bet that is an expensive puppy today.

I've owned dozens of mowers, (I used to mow & landscape when I was a kid) but my favorite was a nice crank/spring start MTD LawnFlite that did everything very well. I was out of town once, so my wife decided to mow the yard for me. When I got back, she said that the mower had quit. Turns out it had chucked the rod out the front of the block. Did an autopsy and never did figure out why.
After that, my wife will not go near a mower under any circumstances.
