Had a call of interest in the Kubota Dozer blade I had listed on Buy Sell Trade. Guy came by yesterday, looked, and purchased it.

He moved down to Mo. from Mn. He had 3ea 8' long 1 1/2" dowels in his vehicle. Asked him what they were for and began an unusual conversation. He raises boa constrictors! Said he sold about 600 last year. Said he sells them world wide. Ships them FedEx overnight.

Been "playing" with snakes since he was a young boy. Has written a book about them, he said was on Amazon. He pulled out his phone and showed pictures.

An unusual happenstance.

I am just beginning to dangle my toes in to HAM radio. I got my Tech license back in 1994 but never had a radio. Until a few weeks ago. I have a small hand held. I have spoken with California on it already using repeaters. A few friends are egging me on to get a home rig and a real outside antenna. I'll probably try to get my General license in the coming months. I'm thinking this might be a good 'retirement' hobby and get me out of the garage and off of the cement floor.

Hobbies are as varied as you can imagine. What is squirreled away in peoples homes and the information in their heads is amazing. The knowledge and expertise of the 20 neighbors of mine is incredibly varied.

It was one of the weirdest conversation I've ever had with someone I just met. But interesting!

Maybe I could trade a tractor for a snake, and start a snake farm? I'll need to set up some subcontractors to provide some mice.

Buddy of mine in HS on Long Island had a Boa..

Amazing animal we'd let loose in the grass on his front yard. You could see the snake descend into the thatch and grass but the minute it stopped moving, it disappeared. Totally. One of us would look away and looking back, you could not see the thing.

Marty kept it in an aquarium but the snake could push the lid back enough to get out. It would usually go for the lower drawer on his mom's china hutch where the napkins and table clothes were. More that once, I was at Marty's and we heard his mom scream when she opened the drawer.

Holy smokes, I've done something wrong with my life choices....

At a Bar/Restaurant I used to work at, I'd sell a "Boneless Chicken Dinner" for $1. Sign by the cash register said so!

It was 2 pickled eggs and a draft beer...Sign spurred a lot of conversation....Sold a lot of them!!
