I wear glasses all day, have for 35 years. After my original optometrist retired he recommended a young optometrist that was just starting out. He knew what he was doing but wasn’t nice to his staff and when I had a billing problem he basically said, too bad. They charged me twice, the exact same amount but I had only been to see him once. I was done after that.
I get new glasses every 2-3 years depending if my rx has changed at all. With my astigmatism, which is really bad and the fact I won’t buy the cheapest lenses or frames mine can cost up to or over $500. So I was looking for a cheaper option.
You need to have your prescription available to order from them. I went to the local eye center, they have offices all over our area, I’m sure a place like Walmart would work just as well. They will want to sell you glasses, this is where most of their profit comes from. They weren’t thrilled when I asked about getting a copy of my prescription, the optometrist actually left part of it off. I had to go back for the completed prescription.
Anyway, I decided to take a chance. Since I had called and talked to a very nice lady from discountglasses.com. She said, they had a full replacement guarantee for 365 days for any reason.
Here’s what I ordered. ,
Stetson ST 344 @ $89.00
Anti-reflective coating $10
Roll and polish edge finish $10
Transition lens package- grey $69.00
Sales tax $1.34
Free shipping
Total $135.32
Received my new glasses and all was good! Until I scratched them enough that it was bothering me. Having forgotten about the replacement policy I called to see about just buying new lenses. No need they said, we will ship a new pair out as soon as they’re done, all I had to do was ship my old ones back. That was almost exactly one year ago today and so far so good with the second pair.
You can get cheaper deals on their sight, I’m just kinda picky since I wear them all day every day for years at a time.
