Yes the factory location is a joke. The door will not open all the way. It hits the loader linkage. It’s also susceptible to damage being so low..Not an answer to your question... but are you moving it because the lid, when opened, hits the loader frame? I'm assuming the factory location was just behind the left front wheel.

It is behind the left tire..
That is sharp.... Awesome job.... Maybe a project for me this christmas...On my M7060 the cold weather made the factory tool box "hinge" crack off so last year I replaced the entire box with this one (see photos below). I made it from 1/8" thick plate and it has a double hinge such that the lid first lifts up a small amount and then pulls forward for clearance thereby allowing its volume to be about twice as large as the factory one. The lid has a gasket which makes it dust and weather proof. All unpainted surfaces and attachments are stainless steel.

You can make the dimensions anything you want. Mine has the same footprint dimensions as the original Kubota polyethylene tool box, the lid is one-inch in depth, and the tool box itself is five-inches in depth. All the metal is 1/8" in thickness.Sir
Any chance you could provide dimensions? ...
