Sorry, I'm sure this has been addressed but I can't find mention of it. I'm replacing lamps with LED bulbs on a new B2650. The others were easy but I'm stuck with these rear amber, round lights. How do they come apart? I'm hesitant to pry, they seem apt to crack, and I don't see any screws or twist-locking function. I expect to feel stupid after it's explained but I'd rather that than feel stupid after breaking one without just asking. Appreciate any help!

On my L3560 they come apart along the edge - I found that out when I was cutting around trees and lost half. I was able to retrace my track, find the front, and snap em back together!!

Under the bottom edge is a weep hole opening use a pick and pull straight out to pop the lens off, works on either side. ;)

Ah, yet again, brute force (with a touch of finesse) is the solution to the problem. Thanks guys!

(For future reference for others, attaching photo of the separated unit, as I had hoped to find).

And now for the tail/brake light reversed polarity debacle... This shall require rum.

It's been a long time since I looked at LED's for replacing standard bulbs. Back then it mattered how the LED would be mounted. For example, if the lamp would be mounted as in your lollipop it would be made to shine more through the sides of the bulb. If it would be in a tail light where the base pointed forward, it would shine more light out of the end.

I have a B3000 and need to replace the bulb in this same light.

But I don't see any wep holes at all.

So, did you just sort of pry it off with your hands/fingers?

Or, can I use a screwdriver along the edge to pop it off?

Thanks.

I have an old Craftsman 1/2" flat blade short screwdriver with a full size handle. I'm sure I've used it more often to pry things apart than to tighten or loosen a screw. It's been VERY handy over the years.

I always get a laugh when I see that “Caution do not use as a pry bar” warning sticker:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I mean come on……..Who the hell doesn't use them as pry bars…..

I would probably have a hard time finding 5 “flat blade” screws in my entire shop, but I must have 100 “flat blade” screwdrivers laying around……..

Probably some sort of “legal protection” thing………….

Nothings worse than having to use a flat bar screwdriver to actually tighten a screw, much easier to just get under it with the screwdriver and pop it out. 😆
I need to figure out where to get electric outlet plate screws that are torx so I can forever be done with slotted/flat.
