Hi, the old B6100 started-up just fine this morning, then I turned it off to open a gate and it won't even try.
Battery 13.4 volts.
Cleaned posts and cable clamps.
Same 13.4 volts at the starter, cleaned the stud and wire ends.
Continuity between posts on the starter switch when turned to "start".
Cleaned the starter switch wire terminals and lugs.
Jumped the wires going to the switch that's actuated when the clutch is depressed.
The starter never showed any signs of laboring, always cranked strongly, now I turn the key and it's as if the battery isn't even there. No sound whatsoever.
Is it possible that the starter just died completely?
What am I missing?
Many thanks for any ideas.
Gary
