A slip clutch is nice as long as you keep it maintained and set right. Otherwise I can give you a world of hurt if it doesn't slip when it is supposed to.

I vote shear pin because of this. All my equipment has slip clutches but a shear pin is easier to maintain. You still need to take the shear pin out on occasion to make sure the pto shaft isn’t rusted to the gearbox shaft.
Another very good point. Ocassionaly make sure the shafts aren't seized together.
Like they say....maintenance is key.
DITTO my experience is most people don't free up/adjust slip clutch at the beginning of season therefore slip clutch is virtually non-operational.A slip clutch is nice as long as you keep it maintained and set right. I've had both and for me the getting on/off the tractor, grabbing a hammer, punch, new pin and repeating is more frustration than maintaining a slip clutch.Buying a 60" brush/grass cutter is the slip clutch worth the extra 180 dollars compared to standard shear Pin ??
