Item description for parts kit says release bearing. Is that the throwout or pilot bearing? You should replace 5 parts while your in there.
The throw-out bearing, the pressure plate, the clutch disk, the pilot bearing and the pilot bearing seal.
Got all my parts ,thanks for the pn's very helpful. What is the correct removal procedure of the pilot bushing? That thing is stubborn! I've tried using the inner hole and pulling with a custom hook tool. About ready to just use excessive force! TIA.Release bearing is the throw out bearing.

Wow 'Cat - - that there is fascinating!Hydraulic pressure at its best!!
Wondered the same question myself until I only had three bolts left holding the case to the engine. The PO had neglected to tighten the loader subframe bolts causing flex at the case and shearing bolts, the output shaft destroyed the weakest link (clutch). That's what I concluded. This tractor has been a great learning tool for repairs and system functions that I never cared to know about! [emoji16]Serious question. What would cause this in HST tractor? I only use my clutch to start the thing. Seems to me, the clutch should last forever.
Dang, sorry that sucks.Wondered the same question myself until I only had three bolts left holding the case to the engine. Good to know for future reference. Here's a picture. This is the same process used to remove the bearing on an L2050.
