The reason it was called a suicide knob is because many placed it on the OUTSIDE ring of the wheel - when cornering (tractor or car) the wheel could spin back quickly and get your hand/wrist etc..... by placing on the spoke and using the hand on the outside of the wheel - problem is eliminated.Hokie in post #6 in the photo, the spinner looks like it is on the wheel. But the spokes look very big. Maybe the spinner would not fit onto the spoke. I just ordered a Kubota one($$$) now I read the Kubota one is junk. But my question is whats the issue with clamping it to the wheel if it won't fit the spoke ??
On my tractors......I'd say the fastest I am turning is going to be about 3 mph, the spinning rate of my steering wheel is not going to do much, I will tell you - hitting a root or dip in the front end, will tell the hand to hold on tight!
That is not my spinner in #6 - here is mine - an Amazon product :

problem #1 - the bolts are not long enough! IT will NOT fit on the spokes!
SO - you need a pair of longer bolts and a little shim material - I used a piece of hard rubber so not to damage the wide spoke on the wheel, I think I had to bang the backing plate a bit too!
