BX2660 Need to pull motor for hole in oil pan

Just discovered a leaking steering cylinder hose and replaced, now I am leaking engine oil after putting everything back together. Seems my hose rubbed a hole through the pan. I did some searching and found this seems to be a common problem, only 97 hours on mine so this had to be routed wrong from factory!
So I was looking at the WSM and it shows pulling the motor to be fairly straightforward and simple after taking the hood off. I looked it over and it doesn't seem as easy as the WSM makes it out to be.

Anyone else done this on their BX and if so can you shed some light on what the WSM doesn't cover? Anybody had the dealer repair and if so how much?

You might try this first. There is a frequent ad on TV where this sticky rubber sheet is claimed to seal holes in contaiers of water, even if they are leaking at the time. Perhaps, draining the oil, cleaning off the outer surface of any oil might possibly do the trick. He even shows sawing a boat in half and using the stuff to put it back together and run with it. I see that ad on Fox News. If it works, I'd do a small area and then a few more layers on top of larger patching.

Easy to get engine off of those tractors. Remove hood, hood support, hoses, wirings, fuel lines, drain the radiator and remove the hoses. Remove 4 nuts on the engine mounts. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the drive shaft to the crankshaft pulley. Remove engine.

Mr. Swift makes a compelling pitch for flex seal tape, but I don't think I'd want tape being the only thing between a very essential fluid for the engine and the atmosphere, even if it is a miracle tape.

Additionally, water and oil are 2 very different fluids. Most pressure sensitive adhesives and soft polymers are not resistant to oil. I'd do more homework before using flex seal tape in that application, even as a temporary fix.

Another thought. There are repair gadgets. They require a rectangular hole be cut in the "pan", to allow a "T" end of a small bolt to enter. Then it is twisted 90 degrees. Fitted on that bolt then is a metal washer with a rubber washer gasket on it. A nut is run up to the washer and it secures the bolt, washer and gasket.

2011 Model, I bought used last March from the original owber, only 57 hours on when I got it, unfortunately no warranty.

Thanks, sounds simple enough. Dealer quoted me two days labor to remove and replace! Also, the WSM states to remove with the radiator connected?

If the oil pan is metal, I would drain the oil, buy many cans of brake clean and some JB weld.
Amazing stuff on a clean surface. Sand the surface and apply the JB weld.

I have seen it work for many years on an old motorcycle gas tank with the heat and vibration.

Unfortunately it's in an area that's inaccesible, high up near the block on the front left corner. Can't even see it without a mirror and lights

Kubota flat rate time is 2.9 hours to re and re the oil pan on that tractor. Expect a dealer to charge 3.5 or 4 hours. at our dealership that would be $400- $500 dollars plus any parts. It is not difficult if you have the means to lift the engine.

Those engines are relatively easy to remove if you have a hoist. And changing the pan is pretty straight forward. I'd say half a day if labor would do it. New providence? Bring it on over to Hoober and we can fix you up!

Thanks for all the assistance, had the motor out and back in on Saturday in 8 hours. 3 hours of that was drinking beer and welding the pan and cleaning up old gasket sealer and installing new pan.

As mentioned by others, fairly easy and straightforward if you have the lift and tools.
