First time using the 3-point hitch tonight on the BX25. I finished installing the lift arms all joyful and triumphant as I needed them move a boat.
That I had stuck.
After scratching it.
After scratching the wife’s new car.
After scratching my new truck.
After fixing a stripped out axel shaft on a utility trailer. (fear not, I “saved money doing it myself”.)
And somewhere in there, I found time to smacked the holy living crap out my head on the ROPS too.
( I will spare you fine folks the fact that today was absolutely horrendous at the office as well.)
Anyway, to complete this wonder day, I have a 3-point hitch that will not go down for some reason. Try as I might, with lever down and standing on it, It does nothing.
In light of recent events, I certainly hope that this is not an easy fix. I’m hoping I have to take the entire tractor apart and buy a bunch of expensive parts to fix it. I would be happy and gay as a tree full of singing parrots if that were the case.
Any advice?

Nothing makes it go down except gravity. Stand on it, put a board across and add heavy stuff, etc. It will probably free up after it gets some movement.

Also, there is a knob under the seat front, behind your heels, that regulates speed of "down." If may be on "zero."

Sorry but that's just funny!:D

Hope it's just a matter of adjusting the speed knob as previously mentioned, OP!

Always start your troubleshooting by thinking and looking for the simplest solutions. Nothing better than walking up on a group of "experts" helping someone troubleshoot the safety interlocks on a lawnmower that will not start, and giving the battery terminal a twist to get it running. KISS

The best solutions are the ones where you turn a knob and the problem goes away.

Actually, I think his original idea has merit:

The idea of putting it up on jack stands, taking the wheels off, dismantling it and putting new shiny state-of-the-art parts on it, then putting the wheels back on sounds wonderful.

Guess it's pretty clear I have more money than sense... and I'm dead broke! :D :D :D

Please don't beat yourself up too severely for sharing your problem. Your comments gave a chuckle to a bunch of folks, many of whom probably need one after doing their taxes. And there's probably not a one who hasn't done something just as absent-minded on more than one occasion. Enjoy that new BX!

I always start with the "nickel" fix and move up from there. In the case of older stuff it's - lube and tap, lube and tap, every once in a while it's lube, heat, tap and get a cheater.
