It would appear that a couple of key parts for my project are "discontinued"
from Kubota, the most important is the battery support or tray, mine is shot....

Battery Support.jpg

I was given a price of $106.20 from the dealer, and about to hold my nose and order it,
then I got the news it was NLA.
I was using the part number for a L175, also discontinued is the same part for
the L225 and L185. Are any other models the same or similar? The dimensions are....

Battery Support dims.jpg

Also I was given a price of $223.05 for the bumper,
that ain't happening, even if it is still available.

Can anyone please take some good pictures and measurements
of a L175 (or compatible) bumper so I can fabricate one?

Neither of these have been found in any salvage yard either.
If anyone can help I would be forever grateful ;)

(That includes a source for GOOD old parts !!)

You have a couple options. Have a new plate welded into the one you have.

Or making a new one yourself or having a welding shop make one.

Check an auto parts store as well. They sell battery trays and boxes. They might have one you can cut and weld into the existing brackets.

Or there's always a tractor salvage yard. Or find someone that's parting one out.

I had the same problem, battery tray all rotted out. I took some 1" angle iron and a piece of sheet metal and welded one up - not very complicated. Good luck in whatever you choose.:)

Bill, you may have to do like they do in Cuba. Fabricate it so close to original you can't tell the difference. Then don't tell anyone you did it, and they won't know!

The battery tray is also part of the hood support system on my L185 so may be on yours also. Keep the legs and build the rest up. I can provide pictures since I bought a new one a while ago. I can also provide dims for the bumper. It may be a week or so though.

Yes it is also on mine,
Thanks for coming to the rescue again with the bumper dimensions :)

Still can not wrap my head around that Radiator Decal at $25+
Does not look to be gold inlayed!

Bill I don't recall the price that high but may have blocked that out, I tend to be a little compulsive to complete a task and once you start ordering a hundred dollars of stickers what's another $25 .....

Darren I can send you an excel spreadsheet and scans of the stickers if you PM me you email.

The bar with holes in it is actually bent like an angle iron with the vertical leg that you can't see being about .5 inch tall

This picture below is upside down. These plates are welded to the bumper on each side of the tractor. No idea what they are for. They are about 1/8 inch thick.

IMG_0091.jpg
The picture below is the backplate that is about 3/8 to .5 thick. It is bent at both ends and then the bumper bar is welded to it.
IMG_0092.jpg
Thickness of bumper is about 3/16

This is the back plate or the bumper.
This shows a stiffener bar welded next to the hook.

More Battery tray pictures:

This is the support that is on the right side of the tractor (for the air filter)
IMG_0076.jpg

depth of the tray is about 1/2.

I think it would be better to have some drainage in the bottom or the sides.

Let me know if you need any other pictures.
