I'm a new member, and new to Kubota. After many years I traded my old Massey 65 in on a new L3901, with a mower and an FEL. I was skeptical of the ability of the small Kubota to handle things, but I should not have been. This little tractor is a workhorse !

I have a few gadgets I've made over the years for the 3-point hitch. In the next posts, I'll
have pictures.

Be aware that I know that some of this stuff is marginal, both from being less than
skillfully constructed, and from being easy to get someone hurt if you are not careful.
The folks on OTT seem to have enough judgement to overlook the ugly, and
enjoy the ideas, so here goes.

Re: Gadgets

Next is a little basket of expanded metal to carry chain saws, weed eaters, and assorted junk from the barn to the work site.

Re: Gadgets

Next three are because I can't bring myself to weld on the bucket - yet ! I know it would be easy to have this thing slip and drop something, so if you do something like this, you probably shouldn't ! The 2x2 square fits nicely into the lip of the FEL, and binds when you lift something (lightweight!) --- I repeat --- this thing is probably too dangerous to use and no one should build this !

And finally ... I have also built a couple of trailers that are always in the wrong place. Since I never think ahead, I made the hitches of two different sizes so my home made trailer mover has to have two different size balls.

I think that's a great bucket hook. It's just missing 2 bolts to secure it to the bucket.

Hi Buffalo,
Welcome to the orange world.

Great ideas!

On the bucket hook.

If you take another larger U channel over top of the bucket and bracket and bolt into the first U channel, you can lock it in.
Without welding or drilling into the fel.

I also like the welder lift and the cage.
Just Needs some orange paint.

I love that idea!
I would just weld on a couple of pins and drill two holes in the bucket,
when it rotates in, under and on slip a couple of clips in the pins.

Nice and secure.

You have some great ideas that I am sure lots will "steal"

Re: Gadgets

I like the carry all basket. Good to haul a chain saw in so you don't forget and dump it out of the FEL. Umm not that I have. :D

nice work, they actually look pretty safe compared to some things I have seen
Heck - they _are_ pretty safe compared to some of the things I've built ! Don't ask my wife about the can crusher.

Thanks for the comments everyone !

I'll offer a bit of criticism on the hook, but it's not the way the 2x2 tube is (not) attached to the bucket (although that is dangerous as well IMHO), it's the way the hook is welded to the 2x2 tube-just welding on the ring end of the hook is not strong and all, and with the leverage that could be imposed because it's sticking up like that you'll likely rip it off with your sized tractor. At least get a proper weld-on hook to use for safety reasons.

That's a good idea of course. I found the hook lying in a road bed and just used it. I could/should have beveled it with a chop saw at least.

I cannot find fault with any of your ideas. You already made your disclaimers and presented the ideas as pure thought, not presenting them as the next best thing to sliced cheese. I love it! If you have any other ideas that you can present here, please do so. I plan to make that bucket hook ASAP.

BTW, there are so many people out there that are making a few dollars on their gadgets for the FEL, it is a real pleasure to see some that are so simple that anyone can do the same without spending a small fortune.

Here are a few more photos. This keeps the bucket from collecting water when it is parked. I don't really have a level place to park so I made this prop for the bucket. Someone could probably get hurt with this, but it would take some effort. Needs orange paint.
