I have this crazy idea to take my bucket off my loader and replace it with a quick hitch that goes on the rear 3 pt. I already bought a 2nd 3 pt. quick hitch. I am thinking I can use my 3pt carry all, 3pt trailer mover, boom pole, extra bucket and make a mount for my snow blade to fit the QH so it doesn't have to be in my bucket. I have a pin on bucket but I just bought a front end loader quick hitch that only uses two pins to take the bucket off and on, I will weld up a bracket just like the mounts on my factory bucket with the pins so I can take the 3pt QH on and off the loader. Waste of time or great idea?

Well ... hmmm .... my immediate reaction is that the FEL doesn't have anywhere near the lifting capacity of the 3 pt hitch and those attachments are going to be a lot further away from the tractor. It will probably work for some things but certainly will not work for all of them.

I took my bucket off a couple days ago and was surprised how heavy it is. I think the mount and the 3 pt. QH should still be a lot lighter then the bucket so that will help.

I like the pallet forks but they sure are hard on my bucket.

I think you will find you will need a secure connection for the lower links. Down pressure from the loader will likely make it want to release the pins, on this setup. You might have to make them secure by securely blocking them from jumping out. As has been said, might also hang things too far out front, to be useful, with some attachments...:D:D

I thought about the implements jumping out. The only time that seems to be a problem with the quick hitch on the rear is when I am pushing backwards with the box blade or the other blade. That could be a problem with my snow plow set up but everything else should have plenty of weight pushing down and keeping the pins in the hitch.

Should make loading heavy 3 pt. items like the box blade into the dump trailer a lot easier then chaining it to the bucket and hoping I have enough height with the loader to get it in the trailer.

I built my forklift so that it could be used on the LA302 or on the 3 pt hitch. Mounting it on the FEL is more versatile, BUT it is a lot easier to hook up on the 3 pt and it will lift more than twice as much on the rear.
Forklift Attachment

I think the quick hitch idea would work OK on the front if you can figure out the locking, but some of the bigger 3 pt attachments like my bush hog would be much too heavy for the FEL to handle.

I don't have forks but I would like to use this on the FEL. This is the 3 pt. QH that I plan to use.

Not planing on doing any front mount brush hog work. That top picture with the mower on the forks is a lot of weight when you add the weight of the mower, forks, and bucket.

Yeah, I was thinking more about using the FEL to move them around.
It would be real handy to be able to hook my bush hog on the loader to move it, but way too heavy to do that. The 3 pt snow blower I have might work, but it would be real close on weight.

Well the quick hitch showed up today. Fits perfect. Looks like it should have came with the loader from the factory.

And the next piece of the puzzle. I talked to the guy at the welding shop today and he said he will try and get me in next week.

Aftermarket. Here the link to the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231729846124?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I hated paying $300 so I called ATI and the guy said they haven't made that hitch in 5 years and have no plans to make anymore. He said that was the only one left 4 sale and it must have been a special order that the dealer didn't sell. After seeing how good it works and how heavy its made its well worth $300.

$397 plus 25$ shipping for this one but it doesn't fit the la302.

Dropped my tractor off at the welding shop yesterday and picked it up today. The guy did a great job for not having any plans to work from. It is way over built but I like it.

Like new used QH off CL on the rear.

Years ago I wanted to be able to put 3pt attachements onto my loader. I came up with this design in which a local welding shop manufactured for me. Of course, I had the advantage of a quick tach bucket. It's kind of simple with a fixed top link point and sliding lift arm points. But it works great. It is shown here with a jib pole that is set up with a trailer moving ball and a chain for lifting things. Very handy. With my permission, he now markets these. Or at least he use to. It's been years since I had this made. I don't know if there was much call for them, but I use it quite frequently.

I like it. Really slick way to hook up 3 point attachments. That jib pole is nice and looks like it would be real handy.

I'm a little confused. If you already have an SSQA for the loader, why not just get SSQA forks?

Other than forks, and maybe a rake/brush fork, I couldn't think of much I'd want for a 3pt implement up front... If I didn't already have them, I'd just get the SSQA version.

I think it's awesome you did it, but I'm not sure what I'd do with that! :)
