HELP!
Today, I took my new rear tires & old B7100 rims in to be mounted- after a long time, the manager told me they could not mount the tires on my "oddball" rims. He showed me that the recess on the new tire for the bead to seat is about 3/4"; the lip on the rim is about 1". The bead would not seat on the rim, it was actually trying to seat on the writing on the side of the tire. He brought out a new 16x6 truck rim & the new tire popped right on & sealed- the lip was 3/4".
I went home & compared the new tires with the old tires & sure enough, there is a 1/4"+ difference in the bead recess. So, apparently, I have odd rims- one guy said non-US rims used to have a taller lip.
I can buy aftermarket replacement rims (expensive), but it appears they are different enough that my wheel weights will not bolt up. All the tires I have checked have the smaller recess, so changing tires is no help.
Any ideas, or inspirations... hell, at this point I'll even settle for a smart a$$ remark- I need a good laugh.

What a terrible surprise!

Hey, you did such a great job photoshopping those two tires to line them up in the same picture, maybe you could do that to your rim and make it work!

Sad truth is that I was thinking the same thing - someone that good with the ol' puta - can rub his nose and make the rim change too!:)

What are the tires .....ag? r4? or turfs......

there has been a guy trying to sell two BRAND new rim/tires off a B7100 on craigslist - they were taken off when new - placed inside, hell even have the little "tits" still on them - not a crack on them either...

I was gonna buy them, but thinking what the hell will I do with em!

Let me know if that is a possibility - PM me if you want to know more

Ags- I need really tall ones, 31.5 or taller, and I would guess shipping from there would be pretty pricy. But PM sent.

I am new to these tractors, but as you ca see in the post below,I have learned that impliment rims will bold right up to a b6100(six bolt on a six inch circle)
Might be worth looking into
Mine were $55 can at tsc, sure they would be much less in us$
Good luck

Lots of possibilities out there, it's a fairly generic 6x16 6 bolt rim, except for the 4 hole, square hole pattern for my wheel weights, which I'd like to keep, after all the work I put into them. I have identified a good candidate, will probably call them tomorrow to confirm all the particulars. Probably won't order them right away, as I might be out of town when they'd arrive.

I'm betting inexpensive impliment rims will do,plus they have the square hole pattern for the weights

Maybe it is the tires that are odd not the wheels. I had a new set of R1 ag tires put on the back of one of my B7100's last winter. No problems. I don't recall what brand the tires are but will look if you want me to. My tires were old and really weather cracked. I was in the middle of removing snow. Had a flat. Jacked up the tractor and took both rears to a tire shop and said please replace them. Two hours later I was finishing up my snow blowing.
If you are having trouble getting them to seat correctly could you just put tubes in the tires?

All the other tires I've measured match the recess on my new tires, and all the rims I've measured have a shorter lip than my rims.

They don't seal, but the reason is because they don't physically fit the rim because of the long lip, as shown below.
The first drawing shows a normal bead/tire fit.
The second shows my problem .

It would be a lot of work, and I would have to grind off all of the rolled edge of the rim, which would probably cut the tire to shreds when mounting, so it probably isn't practical.
I called a supplier early this morning asking them to measure some promising looking replacements- they said they'd call right back. Still waiting.

Update. (and it ain't good)
Talked to two different aftermarket wheel suppliers, their wheel lips measure within 1/16" per side of my "oddball rims". (maybe not so oddball)
Talked to the seller I bought the tires from, said he never heard of such a problem, and I should have them re-mounted by a competent tire shop.
I had them remounted at a different shop, same problem. Tire seller said he would take them back & refund the price, if I ship them back. OK, I'll eat the loss, but what do I use now? The problem tires (Carlisle) are 31.4" tall and a bit short for the 4wd ratio. The seller I'm dealing with also has BKTs without the bead protection recess, but they're only 30" tall. Crap.
Shot some pics of the tire after mount/dismount and it shows a witness mark where the rim hits. It's subtle, but there- kinda scuffed/dirty/orange.

Have you considered the idea of cutting your wheel centers out and putting them into a new/different blank wheel? Either a new set of blanks, or cut/modify a set of pickup wheels? You could weld them in or mount ears to a blank set of wheels and bolt your centers in like bigger tractor rears are done. You're a 'sheenist aren't you?

If I was still working & had access to equipment big enough to do these, I'd probably already be in the process. But my current equipment is too small for this job, so it would have to be by hand. It may come to that, but I'm hoping for a better, less painful solution.

Not yet. Tired guy is working tirelessly (pun intended) to try to understand & solve this problem for me. He & I are both leaning towards the tires being out of spec, rather than the rims. I have contacted (4) different rim sellers, had them take some measurements, and all the aftermarket rims measure very close or identical to my stock Kubota rims. Tired guy is contacting Carlisle (the possibly offending tire) to pick their brains & try to understand what is going on here. He has suggested at least one other tire that is within RC tolerance that might work, but I would hate to buy another set of tires without some more assurance that they will fit. I can't find any locally to "test fit". So I am in a holding pattern at this point.
