Been greasing things with zerts most of my life. Yes, loosening the tip will help, but I don't like that way because it also leaks out and makes a mess. The whole trick is in the nipple. There are three little collars that under pressure, lock onto the zert head. After you grease the pin, shove the nipple onto the zert harder and maybe twist a little. That will releave the pressure and allow the collars to release and you can pull it off. The newer the nipple, the tighter the grip.

I greased the haybaler, today, Hesston 5530, only has one fitting that is a little dicey, cause of the added length of the lockNlube tip. Still I love how I can lock it on a fitting, above eye level, and use the hose, to pull myself up on the tire, to get the fittings on the top hinge...:D

Ordered my LockNLube through Amazon late afternoon on June 10, delivered June 13. Works perfectly, and comes with extra parts to rebuild head (extra insert and jaws). Just ordered another one for my father-in-law.

It is well worth the $$$$ - that is for sure - one of those things that if you could try it first and then buy it......it would sell for more money. Well designed and the fact they give you extras from the get go is a nice touch to boot!
