Interesting story that goes along with this.
I had a guy come in and ask me the torque spec, the sequence, wanted the valve adjustment procedure and cam timing procedure. I started to tell him, but decided that he'd probably forget half of it by time he drove home. SO I suggested for him to buy a service manual. He told me to download one and give it to him. Nope. That information is available to dealer personnel but it's confidential and proprietary, and there is a watermark on the page. Dealers are not to freely distribute. That's we were warned of, and that's what I stick to.
Guy standing on the other side of the counter got mad and said he'd go buy a John Deere. Cussed me 10 ways from Sunday too. But that's the type stuff that you deal with in the industry. You're the bad guy if you do right, and you're the bad guy if you do wrong. You don't win.
