Much better using low gear. Since my original post I have gotten in the habit of using it that way about 95% of the time. Now I have no problems going up and down hills, over rough terrain, etc. It even helps when it comes to using the blade to push things over, smooth down piles of dirt/gravel....dramatically improves things and just makes the tractor feel more "tractor-like!" I have installed a set of Ken's Bolt-On Hooks with the Clevis Loops as well as Bro-Tek 3 1/2" spacers on the rear wheels and am really enjoying it now much better.

Thank you to everyone for your valuable input.

I find using high range to do any work is nearly pointless. Climbing hills,pushing piles or dragging something around in low gear uses the available power more efficiently and tends to be easier on machine and operator. Being "rammy" usually do more harm than good.

Right on! Good to hear that! I just did work on a property that is on a creek, had to do work on the creek bank. Pretty good slope, I just used 4x4, low range and just took it easy. Worked like a charm, power to spare.

Hokie - not to 'jack the thread, but did you look at Bro-tek's skid plates?

I have the BXpanded piranha bar and bucket hooks - great stuff!:D

I'm torn between the two. BXpanded stuff I have is great, but....

I'm tempted to go with the Bro-tek, only because it has an opening for the mid-PTO, and I mow with my tractor. But, its a 2-part plate, double the price of BXpanded, and you shouldn't use the front plate with MMM.

Decisions, decisions.....:confused::confused:
