It looks like the ROPs is down in your pictures. I would think with concerns over flipping, you would have it up. Obviously trees with low branches can force you to operate with the ROPs down. (Remember the rule "ROPs up use the seat belt, ROPs down no seatbelt).

There is a neat (free) app for iPhone called "iHandy Level" where you can just set the iphone on any surface and it will give you the inclination (surface level in degrees) and shows a bubble-level). Pretty neat.

Sage advice for sure. -Im guilty. Tractor doesn't fit in the garage with ROPS up. In truth, anytime I take it on the lake side of the house I for sure need to put it up. We did put it up when we were hill climbing trying to get it back up the hill.

Since you're dead set on playing on that hill side, you might be able climb back up if you had some material in the bucket.

Indeed, however I want to get it where I don't need weight. I am wondering right now if the weight of the backhoe helps or hurts. While the weight is good, the departure angle decreases a lot.

My buddy's cottage was near vertical by comparison. All stairs. I was trying to figure a way up and down with an atv, was possible, but moss on rock is a dicy challenge at best.
Seems the machine is working well and you are working in a cautious manner.
Manage your risk and be safe.

I discovered mine did not fit into my garage with the ROPS Up. Well not without forcing it.........
