14 years old, and this is the first time he's been nailed. Course his depth perception and eye sight aren't the greatest anymore either we didn't realize he would kill snakes till a few years ago. He was going nuts around a root ball from a tree that had been blown over. Kept digging and digging till he got one. Course my wife was by him when he got a hold of it. He dragged it out of a hole and slung it at my wife then started hopping around like he main lined 6 pots of coffee. He would jump in and grab the snake in the middle, sling it around like a pair of nun-chucks and then toss it again. Took me five minutes to get him away from the snake. Scooped him up and headed for the house. Wife met me at the door, took the dog and passed me the shot gun after getting rid of the snake, and checking him for bites, he passed out and slept for the rest of the afternoon. He usually averages killing four or five snakes a year that come in from the surrounding fields. Usually I'll find the carcass while mowing
