What does this lever do?

OK first post here,just bought my 2002 L3710 and decided to join up.Getting aquainted with my new toy and have it figured out......mostly!There is a small lever under the steering column on the left side with an orange handle.What does this lever activate? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Probably your parking brake; depress both brakes, hold and lift up on the lever.

Chevelle, my manual says it's a speed set lever. There is a decal that shows a lock and arrows to the front wheels and an arrow to the back wheels. I've not used it yet.
