Alexisferos, nice work, very practical design with versatile working positions. But I have a question: How do you sharpen the blades?:)

Alexisferos, this is a very nice design and built. Congratulations. I may borrow on your design.
One question, what is the gear ratio of your gear box?
Thanks
Rob

you are free to copy what ever you like,
the gear ratio is 1 at pto 1,8 almost 2 in the cutter,
so when im at 540 it spins 972rpm.

im very pleased with that creation, it destroys everything.
i don't have video yet but i can post some photos..

you mean the chain from the upper side that helps the cutter to follow the ground?
i have try a cable at first but it was difficult to adjust it.

No; I mean cable as the cutter device instead of chain as the cutter device.

Unless I miss understand something. I'm new at this and never seen underside of a bush hog. Am I right that in your home made unit.... and I guess some commercial ones; several short length of chains are spun in your Bush Hog that blugens to death the foliage lol. Just thinking something smaller like cable might slice thru smaller foilage like grass (aka creating a weed eater on steroids)

Here im again, the mower had develop a small leak because the places that i use it is more like a small jungles,

today i have tear down the chain holder plate (a 36mm socket) it will remove it in a second and i remove the bottom oil seal that had develop a leak,
i think tomorrow i will fix it and put some photos from the fix, (but not from the tear down)

2 years later and a lot of use of the cutter i decide to upgrade it a little bit.
i bought a set of blades 410x80x8 mm with M20 hole and i modify the plate so i can interchange them with the chains,

i have also notice that with the blades for a clean cut, i cut grass with 4L or 1H gear (not creep)

with the chains i cannot make a nice clean cut with that gears,
(or im two fast and they just chew the grass or the small kubota cannot keep up with the green think grass and needs lower gear.)
normally i run from 1L to 3L maximum in green tall grass..

here are some photos.
