Just today, bought a 2012 BX2660 with 71 hours. Started mowing my lawn and at full throttle the engine sounded like it was misfiring. I was wearing ear plugs so wasn't sure but looked at the digital tachometer and the rpms were fluctuating as much as 400 from a low of 2750 to high of 3150. I stopped the mower, reduced the engine speed and still had rpm fluctuation of more than 50 rpms. There is no unusual smoke on startup or run.
I have two other Kubotas and have had no such issues with either that have owned for many years.
The tractor looks absolutely new and when I called the private party owner he was concerned as he had not experienced that and suggested I check the fuel filter as something may have been picked up out of the fuel tank.
I have not done that yet but wanted to run this issue out for the consideration of your forum.
Thank you to anyone that can lend some help.
