Ok I will do that after I have the wiring and dash back together. I am in the process of re painting the whole machine and re wiring everything.Start it up & move the throttle & take a video of it..
Ok sounds good. Do you know where i can find a part number for the springs? Both the start spring, and the throttle spring, are stretched and sprung.
I would:
1: Pull the pump out and make sure the rack is moving freely
2: Replace both springs after you know the rack moves freely or you'll just stretch the new ones out.

Ok can most diesel shops rebuild pumps and test injectors?Yes you need the injection pump rebuilt!
You should pull the injectors and have them tested too.
50/50 shot on that, call around.Ok can most diesel shops rebuild pumps and test injectors?
Awesome! thanks for the help! There are 4 screws on the corners of the pump..thats it..
Yes the injectors are in the head, at the end of the steel lines..
Just remove everything in your way.. don't be afraid.. its just nuts & bolts.
Thanks I got it out. To re-install you must be able to push it down to compress the plungers to get the bolts started? The rack did move freely but will have it rebuilt this week. Is it nessecary to remove the valve cover to remove the injectors? The nipples would hit the cover as I tried to turn them outYou will need to have the rack in the proper location in order to remove the injection pump, there is a notch in the block that the rack pin fits through.
Ok perfect thanks. I do have a copy of the work shop manual which I have found lots of info on, however I agree I need to look at it more lolNo, u don't have to remove the v. cover..
U DO have to remove the return line that's connecting each of them together,
Unscrew the nuts holding the return line on & carefully lift it off..
THEN unscrew the injector from the engine..
U REALLY should get a book.. Not that we don't like helping.. its just these simple things that are kickin your butt..
