Thousands of bee colonies are transported from the Southern US, annually to California, to pollinate the CA grown crops

Much smaller scale, but someone went into the ditch near my childhood house.

Had several hives in the back of their station wagon...

Couldn't get near it to put a chain on it for a while. Bees were pretty upset. I got it pulled out after a while. Not sure how many bees were left.

A Bee thread would be neat. Don't know much about bee-keeping. Would be a nice reference.

Bee keeper - yup, just 2 or 3 hives for personal consumption. FYI, when bees fly they generate a positive charge, when they land on a flower the pollen has a slight negative charge and it sticks to the bee. That way mother nature assures flowers get pollenated. As a retired Energy Engineer I found this interesting, hence the name.

That's an amazing bee fact right there. Is this a similar or same phenomena to helicopters positively charging a steel cable hanging beneath them? It's my understanding that it's caused by friction between the blades (wings) and the air.

My chiropractor has bees, and he told me that they're considered livestock up here. I joked that he has 50,000 head of livestock.
