ZG227 How do I disengage hydraulic drives to move to shop?

Hi,
ZG227 is dead on the lawn. Road tech was unable to fix and it's going to the local shop for more experienced techs. How do I make is safe to tow ? I can't find any obvious lever or rod, like my traditional riding mowers had.
I've searched online and in these forums, but haven't found my answer.

You don't! Kubota didn't offer that feature on most of their zero turns. I guess they were so confident you would never need it that they didn't think it was worthwhile!

zg200's and zg300's don't have releases. Neither do any of the diesels. They're so heavy you can't "push" them anyway. Secondly the transmission is designed such that you can move them; albeit slowly, usual method is by pulling it with another mower. Remember: SLOWLY!

All of the ZG100's, Z100's, and now the Z200's (Z251, etc)--and also the Z400 series as well as the Z700 series all have manual release levers on them. So do the T series. GR series does not-it don't need it as when their transmissions die, they push manually rather easily.

Thanks for the reply. So if I tow it, slowly 20 feet and then onto my trailer, it won't damage anything ?

no it'll be fine just go really really slow. Like slower than a turtle kinda slow.

Rather than take a chance, why not pull your trailer onto the lawn and load it there? Unless your lawn is very wet, you aren't going to damage it. If it were that wet, you wouldn't be cutting the grass anyway.

Lock the brakes and drag it or pick it up.

it's fine to pull it slowly. No harm will be done. There is an internal bypass in those style transmissions so that they can be moved manually, rather than having to manually release a lever like the Hydrogear's and Parkers have on them.

it will be fine. The harder/faster you push or pull the harder it fights you. That's why you have to go really slow. Plus it aerates the fluid inside the transmission which is fine but going slowly it won't growl nearly as bad or for as long when you finally do get it started.

The wet yard statement made me smile. You'd be surprised how many people mow wet (not damp, WET) yards and then wonder why the blades don't last long and the grass cut quality sucks. I can't tell you how many times I've been called to a customer's house to inspect cut quality issues to find that they have a low spot (or the whole yard) that stays wet year round and they mow it either real early in the morning or RIGHT after a rain, and gripe cause they spend $7500 on a lawn mower that won't cut wet grass. Those folks need a flail mower on a tractor. Or a reel mower and even then they're gonna gripe. Usually about something else. It made me smile because I am not dealing with it anymore and I don't miss it any. Ironically, a guy who buys a $70,000 tractor has an issue and he asks us to fix it. A guy who buys a $3000 lawn mower and it breaks? The whole world just came to an end.

I would have thought the owner's manual would have said 'how to move when dead' , certainly the serice tech who was there....

Love the 'cut wet grass' too ! ,have several up here do that al the time..then expect me to repair their rotted out decks jam packed with wet,rotting grass on the very thin tin.....

Mower has been towed to driveway and then picked up by local dealer. Brought in 3 dozen donuts and then next day ,I received a call that is is the gas pump. To be replaced Monday and hopefully I be back in the saddle
