After running for a while, my zero turn stops running. Will restart after cranking for a sec. I've checked fuel lines, new fuel, just did winter maintenance(condition started end of last season), fluid and filters. After it starts dying it will continue to do so. I'm thinking electrical but the manual keeps pointing to fuel. Also cleaned carb. If anyone has some helpful suggestions they would be appreciated. Thanks

My mom had a JD mower that would run 30 minutes then die for no reason and once it started it was like that the rest of the day. I changed and/or cleaned everything and nothing made a difference. An old timer that I have known for years told me to try this and when I heard it I thought he was full of bull. You'll probably laugh at me but I'll pass this on to you.

Take a wood clothes pin and clip it to the fuel line in between the fuel filter and where it goes in the engine. If you want to double up put one before the filter as well. I know, it's the dumbest thing you ever heard but mom's JD hasn't died not one time since I put them on there. Can't explain it and won't even try but it worked.

Bulldog that sounds to me like gas boiling in the carburetor. We have a Cub Cadet with the Kohler Magnum flat twin. The brilliant engineers at Cub Cadet modified the cooling fan so it pulls air up from the bottom and blows it out the front. Needless to say it get clogged with grass like nobody's business and runs hot. With the carb directly above the engine it used to take it about 30 minutes of mowing before it would die and refuse to start (vapor lock) for about 10 minutes til it cooled off. Dad's solution was to pack fiberglass insulation between the carb and engine and now it'll only vapor lock if you shut it down hot on very hot days. The clothes pins probably prevents the vapor bubble from moving up the line and blocking the fuel flow in the filter.

Stumpy you may be right, this is a Kohler engine also. The clothes pin trick blew my mind, never heard of anything like that but it worked so I can't argue about it.

ZG227 blows control fuse once it runs for 30 minutes I've replaced the fuel module, check the relays and the seat safety limited. Once it cools down I can replace the 10 amp fuse and it will run for another 30 minutes. Any suggestions.

get the wiring diagram out, find out what components are on the control circuit. With that known, you can then do an amp test for each component on the circuit to see if any component is suspect.

--BUT, my guess is that you have a wire shorting to ground somewhere. Those are never fun to find.
