Appreciate the response, re: vapor lock. However, I wasn't as clear as I needed to be when asking for feedback. The mower won't re-start when hot after turning it off. I forgot to add the fact that it won't even try to turn over. Starter not 'engaged'. After cooling down, starts just fine. NOW, any thoughts? Thanks!

When you say " Starter not 'engaged" - getting a click? dead - nothing? If you are getting NOTHING, could be a switch that is getting hot for some reason, or there is a binding in the starter. Describe the hot starting problem, Have you checked all wires bright and tight? report back :)

Check the tightness of the cables on the battery. When warm, they can expand and loosen enough to prevent suitable current flow. I had the misfortune once as the lead vehicle on a car ferry, when it would not not start preventing other vehicles from unloading. The battery cables were loose enough to do that. Several tmes since that I have found that on other equipment.
