Well I thought I read somewhere here that folks used Zep indusrial purple to clean their tractors??? When my wife asked if I needed anything at TSS I had her pick up a gallon. I also thought I would use it to clean some patio furniture. Upon reading the directions I see this may harm or dull certain painted items. I certainly dont want to prematurely turn my BX to that Mary Kay pink! I can always return it but what do you all use on your Kubotas?

I just use car wash soap with pressure washer for cleaning mine. If your asking about using the degreaser as a soap for washing the tractor I would not do it.

I used it on my old farm tractor without issue. Rinsed well after cleaning.
Granted, the paint is far from pristine, but I was pleased with the results.

Given the package warning, I may not use it on the my Kubota body panels. The old Moline was really a mess, so I was willing to try it. Saw no evidence of paint damage.

The whole rear end and operator station was justblack with oil, grease and grime. I really needed a degreaser.

Like Ford said, if you're just looking for a wash soap, I just use whatever car wash I have. I also stay away from pressure washers for cleaning around mechanical stuff, due to possible damage to seals, etc.

I use Simple Green for most cleaning, since it has no harsh chemicals. If you need to use a degreaser, then Dawn dishwashing liquid works well, especially when coupled with a pressure washer. Prevention, by waxing is better than having to work to maintain the finish once is starts to deteriorate. Many of the tractor parts are powder coated today, and they do hold up well, until you get a chip in the coating. From that point forward, the coating will continue to lift as moisture gets under it. This is why I don't care for powder coatings on tractor parts. Powder coatings don't like sharp edges, and the metal must be extremely clean and oil free for a good bond.

Your safest bets are: washing/cleaning - a good auto wash and wax and degreasing - a citrus based degreaser. Of course if you use a pressure washer, you need to be extremely careful around any electrical components and fittings with grease seals or boots. I would not use a pressure washer unless absolutely needed.

If you want to wax it, you might want to try Griot's 3 in 1 Ceramic spray wax. Forget and ceramic claims, the wax is: spray on wipe off, safe for plastics/rubber and matte finishes and extremely long lasting for a spray on product. You will get 6+ months of protection out of it, and you can apply it in minutes. It protects every surface with no white residue. Watch the video at Griot's Garage.

I use ICE car wash which has the wax in it. I use the Turtle Wax ICE for everything. Used it on all my Harley bikes and it leaves them all looking like I hand rubbed for the shine. I use it on wife's car, my truck, on the boat (before I sold that), bikes (yup, sold them too), and tractor. Does a great job and I use the pressure washer as well.
