zd326 that wont start

I have a zd326 that wont start. I have checked all the switches and found no problems. I put a remote start on the starter and started. All the control lights come on with the switch. Checked the switch and it enigerizes the starter circuit. Can any one guide me in the next direction

Is there a fuse in the starter circuit? Looking at the parts diagram, there appears to be a fuse located down by the starter that is a 50a fuse.

Check the voltage at the smaller wire that goes to the starter solenoid. Should be more than 11v, with the key turned to start, operator in the seat, both control levers out, pto off, and brake on (and all those switches working properly)-- and the wire still connected to the starter. Low voltage, there are a couple ways to fix...check your connections first off (the big white connector under the seat has been an issue more than once). If all connections are ok, you can install a John Deere starter relay kit which solves the low voltage issue. Part number on the kit is AM107421. NO voltage, check the switches. If switches are ok, check your starter relay which is under the seat, and check it's wiring for corrosion.

Checked the switch and it enigerizes the starter circuit.

So if it energizes the starter circuit does it crank and just not fire?
Do you have the blade switch/pto switch engaged?

Have a ZD326s with ~450 hours. I went to start it and it wouldn't start.
Here are my observations of symptoms:
With all safety switches satisfied (drive levers out, brake set and pto off)
1) Turned key to on.
Half of the time, the oil level light and gauges shone and responded as normal; lights brightly lit, gauges (fuel and temp) immediately to appropriate position.

Other times, lights would shine dimly and gauges would meander slowly to near appropriate positions, as though there was insufficient battery power.

2) Turn key to "preheat". All power lost, lights went out entirely, gauges reacted as though I had just turned the key off.

3) No response at all when I turned the key to start.

After much troubleshooting and testing, I focused on two relays; the starter relay and the solenoid relay. I purchased one (less than $20) and replaced the solenoid relay and things are groovy once again.
