WE bought ZD 1211 with RDK60P Deck :Machine in June had it 5 minuets and called Dealer Blades colliding Dealer picked up . Dealer (gave Us a Loaner)and went through all kinds of trying various solutions ripped the whole deck apart 4 times, but after 2 months lucked out. I think it was a timing issue. We put on 40 hrs and hit a horse shoe. Very small dent in blade but the main vertical drive spindle shaft snapped into two pieces. The Shaft is made of Powdered metal. Dealer says part not in stock in U.S. . Does not know when or if we will get

We still have our 2006 - ZD28F It had similar collision with a horse shoe and the mower shredded the horse shoe. I'm going to take broken shaft to Burggus Norton a large local powder metal casting manufacturing for an opinion . Will keep you posted

I'm not familiar with your machine but neither of my ZDs were timed. They have a slight gap between blades. under those circumstances, I'm pretty sure my dealer would replace the deck.

rentthis is correct, there is no timing to the blades. They are staggered so the cut is overlapped but nothing to time. I"m not sure how you have blades colliding.

I'm wondering if they put the wrong blades on the unit originally. That would sure explain the colliding if they are a hair long. One of my old mowers had two different blade sets listed for it, and you had to pay attention when ordering. My model came with either a 46" deck or a 48" deck. Mine was the 46" and took the set that had a shorter blade for the middle. The other set had three blades the same length.

I ordered the wrong set, and when I checked them before reinstalling the deck, I found they would hit each other. Then started looking at my old blades and realized there was a difference in size with the one blade  That's when it donned on me that there was two different deck sizes
