Just got my zero back and hour meter has power and has hours recorded on it but when it's running its not going up in hours. Float in carb cracked so they took the engine out and fixed it and assuming a connection isn't plugged in. I looked at the harness everything seems hooked up but what wire am I looking for? Meter has power just doesn't go up in hours

Check you wiring diagram. Are you sure the meter has power? How did you confirm? Disconnect the negative terminal and measure voltage between the spade connector and the removed ground wire.
The meter is on...or does it not run off battery? Does it not need the battery? I don't know thats why I'm asking.
The meter needs power to operate. Its purpose is to record running hours for the engine.
It is wired to add hours when the key switch is turned ON.
If you run out of fuel and get off the machine to go for fuel and leave the key ON, even though the engine is not running, since the key switch is ON meter records hours.
the hour meter doesn't run off of +12v keyed power. Well it does, but it don't come on until the oil pressure rises. At that point the hourmeter should have a blinking hourglass. Is the hourglass blinking?
