I've had the mysterious "engine bogs down after twenty minutes" problem with my BX2200 for a couple of years now. The local shop said to look for something in the tank that was blocking the line. I was skeptical but I finally broke down and brought it into town where I could work on it easier, determined to find the problem.
I drained the tank of all fuel and the water that had accumulated from around the leaky fuel sending unit (more on how I hopefully fixed that later) and finally pulled the tank off. Imagine my surprise to find the tank pretty clean except for this random light bulb! At first I didn't think that could be the problem because I assumed it would float, but it doesn't, being that the air space is a vacuum. It just happens to be the perfect size and shape for blocking the outlet, so I have my fingers crossed. It's been running fine but I haven't had it running for a long enough yet to be sure.
As far as the leaky sending unit goes - I removed the rubber grommet, cleaned it and the sending unit body, and then wrapped Gorilla duct tape around where the grommet sits to make the grommet larger and tighter when I replaced it. I then slathered it in silicone glue, replaced the grommet, and then slathered it in silicone. I then replaced it all making sure it was much snugger than before. I then ran a bead of silicone around the outer edge for good measure. Hopefully that will take care of the water problem. Fingers crossed ;-)
