It was the 1st winter with the lx2610. The fuel pump went out on the atv and we had a major storm that caused 4ft drifts so I'm glade I had it. It's still considered winter here and 2 weeks ago a tornado touched down but I'm thinking in my head for next winter already. This winter was a lot of trial and error trying out the f.e.l, rear blade, and box scraper. For my personal preference I like the box blade, it's heavier, I can push or pull with it, and I pull the snow away, just not windrowing it. A 3 point blower is in the works but not sure how soon. I've been using the f.e.l with combination of the box blade. I don't want to wear the bucket down, and even though I don't rip up the lawn hardly or pull gravel on it I decided to get in the boat and buy edge tamers after reading how many of you have them and like them. It just seems smart, and with the right tilt they turn the bucket into a snow pusher(to a point the snow should roll out of it and not completely fill up). I'm just searching around seems like the r2 is the best way to go......yeah you're spending x2 or x3 than other brands but usually you end up buying the better product at the end anyways. What's 70.00 on a 30k tractor ?lol. Watching youtube a few guys said they liked the cheaper ones and seemed to work just as well.

When it comes to a snow blower I'd be disappointed if you didn't find one someone was selling and rebuild it. You have nearly a year to get it complete.

two more options...
1) Since you also have an ATV, buy a gas powered ATV style snowblower and modify for SSQA operation. Make SSQA for the ATV and you'll be able to swap the snowblower to whichever ride you want to use (ATV or tractor )

2) Now if you actually build a gas powered SSQA snowblower, it won't snow. Made mine 3 years ago NEVER needed to use it. Had about $500 in it(14HP engine + 2-3 parts),rest was laying around(2x 24" blowers, steel, batter,EPTO). Decided to recycle the parts this winter(again NO real snow....)

Pretty sure a rear PTO snowblower is for the 'young and agile' crowd, at 70 that lets me out....

Being " end of season " I'm starting to see 6ft blowers going for 500 to 2000. The ones for 1000 don't look all that bad but I agree off season and one that needs rebuilding you can get s pretty good deal.

My rear blade I got super cheap at an auction. It needed new bearings, but was super heavy duty vs the new ones and way cheaper than them too.

two more options...

Good idea. I like the atv, it's fast and nimble but you can't roll the snow pile. This would've been the 1st year out of 4 I wouldn't have been able to bust through some snow. Id'd still like the bucket to be able to back drag snow if I had a 3pt blower.

I bought a rear pull type snowblower and I've never looked back.

You are the only other person that I have seen with my exact set up. Works great if you stay on the snow build up. I have 500’ of driveway and if I keep is plowed I never need the tractor. I have the Moose plow and 2006 Arctic Cat with dump rear too! No pic with plow though.

I think you need some more help buying.

Buy a heavier rear blade. You probably need a wider one, too. While you are at it, buy UMHW strip to replace the bottom of your blade just in case you want to try it.

Since you have an LX with midst, I think you also need a front mount snow blower. Check out GP Outdoors on YouTube. He'll show you how much you need it. He can also show you why you need hydraulics to control the rear blade.

Mine is a 2010 700. I absolutely love it and kind of sad its getting up there for considering upgrading. I had a honda 300ex, and when I bought the farm bought a bayou 300 that was a money pit. I sold that and bought the tbx. At first I didn't think I needed a 700, automatic push button 4x4, efi dump box or winch but sure glade I have all of them now. I couldn't justify a gator and the wife thinks the old polaris 6x6's are ugly so settled on this. That thing was an atv, tractor, fence mender, wheel chair, dump truck, snow plow, sprayer, wood hauler and entertainment over the years.

Lol I feel the rear blade is pretty heavy its an old dearborn. It's 6ft. I'd like a 7ft but even the 6 played with the tractor a bit.

I will never own another three point snow blower or for that matter another three point blade for pushing snow. I hate turning around and backing up. My go to tools for pushing and moving snow is a hundred horse skid loader with a nine and half foot snow bucket on it. Its fast and nimble. We had some major drifts around here in Jan I almost threw a pair of chains on. If I didn't have the skid loader I would have a the snow bucket on the tractor and loader.

I plowed snow professionally for 8 years using a gehl skidloader. I really liked that. Like you said nimble and I like you can see the bucket. One time the company demoed a hydraulics v blade I really liked that.
