I have a 2017 RTV x1140. Ran great until lower rad hose came off and fried the engine. Had a new engine put in and hasn’t ran right sense. Idles fine but at full throttle on flat ground it smokes and going up hill it just about stalls if you don’t let of the pedal, and blows smoke like crazy. I thought the IP had a stuck plunger but it didn’t. I replaced anyways and still no luck.
Things done this far:

Checked air lines and filter
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced injection pump

I’m not sure where to go from here

Curious why you would replace the injection pump?
Black smoke mean over fueling not under, a injection pump can't over fuel.
Injectors on the other had can over fuel.
Did they replace the entire engine or just a short block?

Sounds like either the spill timing is off or the injectors are bad.

I had “mechanic” friends helping me and the common suggestion there was IP as these IPs have been known to freeze up. Which it wasn’t and I got desperate and just threw a new part at it. As for spill timing, what is that? And how does one check it?

When you replaced the Injection pump was there shims under the pump?
Did all those shims get reused?
Did you use any RTV under the injection pump to seal it?

Those shims set the timing, and the way to verify if the timing is right is to do a spill timing test.
It is covered in the WSM (aka service manual).

When I removed the IP there was only 1 shim under it. I will do that test tonight and let you know
