Definitely a first world problem, but I feel your pain.
I had an order for a water proof bag that got messed up. It was for a trip I was taking on my motorcycle. I tracked it to the depot the day I was supposed to leave. So I called the depot and told them not to send it out on the truck, I’d be there to pick it up first thing in the morning. Luckily the depot is only 10 miles from my house. Left everything that needed packed on the kitchen table, 30 minutes later I was packed and rolling out.

I get frustrated with little things like this at times as well but do my best to just let it go and move on. Good luck with you project.

I live in the country and everybody's mailbox is by the road. Fed ex is the only one who will set the package either on the ground by the mailbox or on top of your mailbox, take a picture and leave. Anyone can just drive down the road reach out the window and steal your package. No our front porch is not far from the road. USPS and UPS drop it on the porch everytime! Fedex delivered a package to my neighbor and set it on the ground in front of his garage door, he came home late one night and ran over it! Fedex sucks!

Have this also:
The house is about 500' uphill, out of sight & not really country meaning a lot of regular traffic. They randomly leave at road where NO ONE would see anyone take it.

Talked to the seasoned regular delivery driver and he says it is all the new hires, lack of training & oversight. And NO, there is no way to get through to a person to complain. I keep rating deliverys at 1/10 but no joy so far. Both FedEx & UPS (regular guys are very apologetic).

Ups lost a carburetor for a 55 dodge I was working on. Never to be seen again.
About 6 months ago fed ex tracking Said my package from messicks, zero turn parts, was delivered. Somewhere but not at my house. Messicks resent the order. Then a few days later I received a call from fed ex, they left a message that their driver couldn't find my house. At the time I had a sick dog and fed ex was here once a week with meds. I had to go to the local hub to retrieve the package twice because the 1st time they couldn't find it there, said it must have went back out for delivery. The second time I was lucky enough to find someone who actually didn't mind doing his job and he found it.
Fast forward to today. Another messicks order shown as delivered. Picture of just the mailing label on the box which shows my correct address clearly. No where to be found here.
One day people will do their jobs again. Until then. 🤷

And to think we grew up in the six to eight weeks delivery time from the mail order catalogs! This has been replaced by one to three days. And if Bezos gets his drone plan going, it will be six to eight hours. Spins my head for sure!
But we also have to remember that if you needed something, a local store probably had it on the shelf. You had to ‘let your fingers do the walking’ by calling through the phone book (remember the yellow pages?)to make sure they had your item.
Sorry not much help Skeets. You feel like that dog with a treat on its nose and waiting for the command to let you eat it!
Not a worry, this stuff was not locally obtainable, if it was I would have picked it up my self :)

I order almost everything online now. I 1st go to Amazon, then I know the most I'm going to have to pay for it. If it's of any significant value I'll google it and compare prices.

For the most part my deliveries have been excellent. One annoyance is Amazon will say order in the next XX hours and it will be next day (or same day) delivery. It's 50/50 that it actually happens.

The funniest Amazon 'non' delivery happened about 5 years ago in January. Our mailbox was about 500' away and definitely out of sight. Amazon claimed the delivery was made by USPS. I searched and searched but no love. They resent the 3 items n/c - no arguments. About 2 months later I found them poking out of a snowdrift as it was melting at the top of the driveway.
Apparently the driver just tossed them into the snow 'near' the mailbox because they wouldn't fit.

I saw on TV that 90,000 pkgs a DAY get stolen by 'porch pirates' in the USA. I'm thinking 1/2 gets resold online for 'fun' money, the other 1/2 for drugs ??
Good thing all this 'stuff' is Made in China !

Fed ex found my package. Messicks started a claim on tues. Thurs they got a call that fed ex "found it" and I would receive it thurs.
No further emails on delivery but was on my porch when I got home marked delivered to wrong address.
I have a 400 ft driveway and multiple vehicles there at all times. Porch pirate would have to be real brave or stupid to try at my place.

By your information you have cut the chances of theft by 50%. You mentioned having to be real brave or stupid.....Well they all are stupid! Some I'm sure not so brave. ;)

LMAO. Got a fedex today. Driver had to scan my drivers license as ID and required a signature to release the package.
25 mini bottles of bourbon and scotch set up as an advent calendar. A couple hundred dollars of alcohol are more secure than a couple of thousand dollars of equipment. Go figure !

I have to up this kid's portion of the will ...

You ought to try getting something shipped to Canada! Not only do we have the same crappy couriers, but we have the added fun of customs (often more than three days) and obscene “brokerage fees”. I once was held for ransom by UPS for $35 on an $11 dollar part…. As strange as this sounds, I have had my best luck using USPS then passed off to Canada Post who have a set $2 “brokerage fee” (in quotes, cause we all know its mostly BS, but being extorted for $2 is better than $35). We are lucky enough to spend much of our winters in Texas, so usually fill up the pickup truck while here… even with exchange and some duties, we come out ahead…

I had a Summer home on the coast of Nova Scotia for 13 years.
Canada shipping costs are truly exceedingly painful!
I took everything possible with me,...... even bathroom fixtures, including tub.

At one time in my life, I contemplated importing a young woman that I was dating into the US. I got as far as mentioning it and she was offended that I didn't want to move to the land of freezing winters and drivers who have no clue how to drive in that frozen white stuff. I am certainly glad that our relationship hadn't progressed to the point that I couldn't go back across the border because her father was holding a shotgun.
