D1402 is an easier engine to find

What do you need the engine for?
Because there is variables in the engines for different uses.

Because there is variables in the engines for different uses.

I have a Swinger 100 mini Loader with a Kubota D 1402 with low compression but not using any oil and no blowby. Its hard to start. I'm told these have indirect injection, compared to the D1403 which has direct injection. Both are hard to find unless wore out. There are other motors that would work. My biggest challenge is to find one that the Hydraulic pump will bolt up to the bell housing.

The D1402 comes in both versions a IDI and DI, so you don't need to change series to get a DI engine.
And Yes DI's start much easier.
