WoodMaxx WM-8H vs Woodland Mills WC86

I've been in the market for a homeowner/large (30 acres) acreage wood chipper. I have narrowed my choices down to two brands that I thought would fit my needs - they are the WoodMaxx and the Woodland Mills. I could not find any comparisons on them so I compiled what I think is an accurate data-log. Any errors are mine alone; and I apologize in advance to the manufacturers. I consider both units excellent and worthy of consideration!

I have attached a PDF attachment that compares the two chippers. Different features, excite different folk - so you decide which is better for you.

P.S. The Woodland Mills WC86 should read WC68. I'm dyslexic!

I've used my Woodmaxx for about 15 hours now and it has been great. I don't know anything about the other company.

I have been very happy with the chipper and have used it a lot since I got it. We had 16 tree pushed out to clear room for a garage and I chipped all of the tops. Here is a picture of a couple of the chip piles, they are about 4 foot tall:

I used it for a little over an hour Sat. chipping stuff that I cut that was hanging over the private road we live off of. We have about 1,000 feet of road frontage.

I had looked at getting the hydraulic WoodMaxx, but I didn't want the extra hydraulics with the hoses that could get caught on something and make a mess. There have been a couple of times that a reverse would have been nice, but I was able to pull the stuff out by pulling down on the handle.

Here is an update;

I purchased the WoodMaxx WM-8H. I have about 50 hours on it and its attached to a Kubota B3350 (33HP and 27HP at PTO).

The machine has worked flawlessly and the reverse hydraulics is worth the extra expense. It clears jams in a jiffy.

My only concern is with my tractor. The chipper's heavy flywheel bogs down the engine and I have to engage/disengage the PTO to get it up to running speed. Once there, its a beast. It's also a bit heavy for my tractor. The 7 gallons of hydraulic fluid (@8lbs/gal) add some unanticipated weight and I add some ballasts on the front to remedy this issue.

For my tractor, I think I should have purchased the MX 8800 because its lighter and hydrostatic drive would be easier getting the chipper up to speed.

I can recommend the product, wholeheartedly.
