I sourced a 3 year old Boss 7'6" V plow this summer. Also bought an undercarriage from Boss (Part # LTA 19950) to mount the plow on my 4630. The wiring harness that came with the plow is from a 2016 Chevy 1500. I am now facing the daunting task of trying to hook up the wiring harness to the tractor. The dealer said there is a wiring harness available from Boss for a Kubota tractor ($400 plus). She said her notes on the order page said the Kubota harness was also used on Dodge trucks. I'd like to use the harness that came with the plow. I've been looking and wiring diagrams online all morning and it is a bit clearer how to proceed but I am still mostly confused. I'd greatly appreciate if you have any suggestions or help to offer? Thank you.

Kinda hard to believe that info isn't on BOSSes webpage....

+12 battery feed and ground to plow pump unit
+12 with inline fuse and ground to joystick

it 'should' be that easy.

Post the plow pump/controller info for more help.

Do you have a truck side harness? The plow control circuits are simple and the same for pretty much all applications. Straight blade and V-blade are different as the V setup has a couple more circuits. If you have a controller with the 9 pin connectors you just have to wire that to the 13 pin plow connector. You should not need to worry about the lights unless you really want to use them.

I made my own harness for my Ford F350 from a few harness but made some modifications to improve the lighting circuits.

The biggest thing is if you don't have it is the solenoid for the pump supply. It is just a standard pump/starter solenoid. Also be careful if you use it a lot as it can draw your battery down pretty quick.

You should consider installing a second 'plow only' battery and alternator power diode setup. Most 'snowplow' trucks do this...allows you to drive home at 3 in the morning when the plow pump motor takes out it's battery.........

Another thing I forgot to mention is that the mounting frame should be ,mounted so that the locking pin hole is 15.5" from the ground . That will give the plow the proper angle and contact with the ground

I finished mounting the Boss undercarriage on the tractor today. I called Boss a couple of times for help on my wiring harness install. Their home office is in Iron Mountain Michigan) about an hour and a half from me. They have been very helpful, sent me links to schematics and answered my questions. I've decided to purchase the wiring harness that they have adapted specifically for Kubotas. I'll pick that up tomorrow and start that part of the install. Thanks for your input and advice on this project.

In that case I need to know what DOES that 'special ' harness consist of ? According to the PDFs here, you just need 3 wires...+12 to joystick, ground to joystick, +12bat to pump.

It looks like this harness will have the turn signals, high and low beams etc.. integrated so they will work on the plow.

This is from the install instructions: 1. "Locate the vehicle upfitter wires in the engine compartment under the vehicle fuse panel; refer to your vehicle owners manual". Upfitter wires? I have no clue what that means....yet.

I got a few minutes today to start looking around under the hood of the tractor. This wiring harness is way less complicated than the Chevy one. I still don't know where to tie into the tractor wiring (the upfitter thing) so I may call Kubota and Boss tomorrow for any help they may offer. I'm going to post the schematic and parts list for this harness kit from Boss. I would also welcome any help that you could offer. Thanks.

I suppose the 'upfitter wires' IS the $400 wiring harness you got in the 'kit'
Now 'IF' this is for your Kubota, it should 'simply' be a case of finding the various connectors 'under the hood', disconnect, insert 'upfitter' connector, reconnect the original. A 'T' connection, similar to what some trailer wiring 'kits' do.
I sure hope you have the Kubota WSM or at least the Wiring diagram !

I have neither. I just found a service repair manual online for $15. (https://www.aservicemanualpdf.com/checkout/) Good/Bad? Accurate? Thanks.

Ok, UPDATE. I called Boss again today. Again, they were fantastic. He explained the whole thing to me. The instructions with the harness were confusing me. It turns out there are (at least) 8 wires I don't even bother with on the harness. They are for a Dodge Ram (which is the harness they sell for tractors as they are less complicated than other harnesses). I'm heading out now to see if I can get it all to work out. I'll keep you posted.

I have made a couple more calls to Boss plow today and last week. They have been fantastic answering my questions and more. I have made good progress. The harness i bought from Boss is a (new) repurposed harness for 2015 Dodge Ram. That means there are plenty of wires not getting used. There were 6 relays on the harness. 3 are unused (turn signals, parking lights, can't remember the 3rd). Anyway, those got removed from the harness today. It was way easier to find room for 3 relays vs. 6. One thing I don't like with this setup is the headlights on the plow do not require the key to be on to work. There was a small harness with a 3 way toggle switch with the undercarriage. The toggle switch is brights, dims and off. I have to find a spot for the solenoid for the main power to the plow. I think it will mount above the battery. I plan to put new battery terminal ends on that have lugs for the extra wires for the plow. I hope to have it buttoned up by the end of the week. Its supposed to be down in the 30s tonight. I've seen snow show up in October and stay.
